Monday

Monday is the season finales of Saving Grace on TNT at 10/9c and a new episode of Destroyed in Seconds on Discovery at 8/7c, followed by the season finale at 8:30/7:30c.

Tonight is also the series premiere of 2 shows. First up is Doing da Vinci on Discovery at 10/9c. One of the greatest artists of all time, the legacy of Leonardo daVinci (1452-1519) includes some of the most well-known paintings ever made. But daVinci’s talent exceeded far beyond painting – he was also a successful architect and engineer, and his drawings of military weapons have been highly regarded and studied for nearly 500 years. These drawings capture exceptionally engineered weapons unlike anything that had been developed at the time they were created, yet there is no record that these designs were ever constructed … until now. Discovery Channel’s six-part world premiere original series, DOING DAVINCI, puts a team of 21st century builders, engineers and historians together to take on one of history’s greatest minds as they attempt to build daVinci’s weapons once and for all.

Second is the series premiere of College Life on MTV at 10:30/9:30c. Instead of trying to follow college students around with a camera crew in an attempt to capture the essence of their lives, MTV has handed the cameras over to a group of students to let them tell their own stories of college life. Eight freshman and sophomore students — Josh, Alex, Lindsay, Andrea, Dan, Anna, Jordan and Kevin — attending school in Madison, Wisconsin, have been equipped with cameras and given a mission: film your college life. The result is an intimate portrayal of the highs and lows of the experience, a no-holds barred, honest portrayal of life on campus. The academic and social pressures they face are real, as is the drama of lives that are being lived in real time. From the excitement of new friendships and new romances to serious bouts of homesickness, the on- and off-campus party scene, the football madness of game day and everything else these students encounter as they get their first real taste of freedom will be seen on episodes of the show. The emotions are raw and the stories are real because without camera crews, directors or scripts, all that’s left is an uncensored look at ‘college life’.

Finally, there is a 1-hour special on Discovery at 9/8c, Arctic Roughnecks. A special breed of Arctic roughnecks take their mega-machines where mere trucks could never go, deep into the frozen tundra of Alaska’s North Slope.

  1. tedder says:

Nope. Nothing new I’m recording. That’s okay, we are still catching up on pilots.

  2. Jenny says:

haha We watched about 7 hours of tv almost straight today, catching up on pilots & other stuff. We still have a TON to watch. Ugh. 🙂

  3. Jenny says:

Oh, and so far, I loved Southland, The Unusuals was pretty weird (& if Amber T. wasn’t in it, I probably wouldn’t watch ep 2, but I will, just in case it starts to get better) and Harper’s Island is … interesting. heh

  4. tedder says:

We didn’t care for Southland, it didn’t go past our “five minute rule”. Unusuals is interesting enough that we’ll continue to watch.

And Better Off Ted has been hilarious so far. It goes up there with (the original) Scrubs and Big Bang Theory for being a slightly geeky neurotic show.

  5. Jenny says:

Aww, you def. should have given Southland an entire ep. It got better as it went along. We tried several eps of BOT but got tired of it pretty quickly, which is sad since I loved who was in it. (Specifically Andrea Anders from The Class. Heh)

  6. Haley says:

Didn’t like Southland… I only watched it for Ben McKenzie anyway lol.

I’m still on the fence about The Unusuals… like you Jenny, I’ll watch the second episode for Amber Tamblyn and hope it’ll get better.

Annnd no Make Me a Supermodel this week 🙁 ?
