This Week on TV – 6/28/09-7/4/09

Welcome to a new week of TV! Busy start to the week with a few premieres and finales but it ends fairly slow and easy. Did anyone watch The Philanthropist last week and love it as much as I did? šŸ˜€ Let me know in the comments or via email! Jump with me to see this week’s schedule!

Sunday

Sunday is the season premiere of HGTV Showdown on HGTV at 10/9c.

It’s also the 45-minute series premiere of Hung on HBO at 10/9c. The show stars Anne Heche, Charlie Saxton, Eddie Jemison, Jane Adams, Sianoa Smit-McPhee and Thomas Jane (as the lead character). Years ago in high school, Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane) was athletic, popular and destined for success. Now, as a high-school teacher and basketball coach, he’s underpaid, uninsured, and embittered that his wife of 20 years (Anne Heche) has left him for her dermatologist. After a fire damages the rundown Detroit home he inherited from his parents, Ray’s fortunes reach an all-time low when his twin children, who had been living with him, move in with their mom and her clean-freak hubby. Lonely, run-down and at wit’s end, Ray attends a local self-help class whose mantra is to identify a personal “winning tool” to market for financial success. After a not-so-fulfilling encounter with a fellow attendee – an ex-flame and would-be poet named Tanya (Jane Adams) – Ray has a “eureka” moment. With the help of Tanya, Ray resolves to take advantage of his greatest asset, in hopes of changing his fortunes in a big way.

An 11-month-old becomes lethargic and unresponsive as something methodically destroys his brain. A group of medical students return from spring break with terrible headaches and meningitis-like symptoms. Family and friends are shocked and worried. Doctors are puzzled, racing to unlock the mysteries before it is too late. What do all these cases have in common? The causes of these mysterious illnesses are not viruses or bacteria but stealthy, cunning creatures that have taken up residence in their unsuspecting hosts ā€” parasites! Every story is a life-or-death battle between modern medicine and evolution as these patients fight off the Monsters Inside Me.

I would love to become a media blogger and post my views of TV shows. Where would you suggest I start?

    Thanks,

I just started my site for myself, not really expecting to get anyone reading it. *laughs* Basically, I just got some webspace from a host (I use SurpassHosting.com and love them.) and installed WordPress. WordPress.org has tons of themes you can choose and once you’ve used it for awhile you can even learn to customize it yourself, which is nice. That’s pretty much the only advice I have. šŸ™‚
