I do love Fridays.. but then again, who doesn’t? As promised I’m doing my best to dig up some news today, and I’ll also talk about the results for SYTYCD. Let’s get to it!
Tyra Banks will be guest starring on Gossip Girl come fall, and not as herself. She’ll be playing an actress co-starring in a film with Hilary Duff’s character. She should grace the screen around episode 4. I’m not sure how I feel about this, except for the worry that I’ll get sick of seeing her face on the CW this fall. lol. Source
More after the jump
Diane Keaton is going to take a chance with a TV series on HBO. She’ll be executive producing and starring in the comedy written by Marti Noxon, who has written on shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Private Practice. The comedy will be centered around an older woman working for a porn magazine, and they think it’ll be a hit. I really enjoy Keaton and I’m sure a comedy about the sex industry will fit in perfect on HBO. I’ll give it a chance once it’s named and on TV because I enjoyed things written by Noxon in the past. 20th Century Fox and the original cast members of Futurama have reached a new agreement. The amount and information of the deals have not been released but none of that matters to this girl as long as we get the original voices for the show. We’ll see new episodes sometime mid-2010. I’m glad a deal was reached and that both sides are happy, what are your thoughts? Source
Another smart move on the USA network’s part is the greenlight of the pilot of a show called Covert Affairs, starring Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly) and Christopher Gorham (Jake 2.0 and Ugly Betty). Covert Affairs centers on a young CIA trainee, Annie Walker (Perabo) and Christopher Gorham, who plays Auggie Anderson, a CIA military intelligence agent who was blinded while on assignment and is Annie’s guide in this world of bureaucracy, excitement and intrigue. Not a huge piece of news, but if you are a fan, it’s good news. TLC has renewed Cake Boss for a 2nd season. Source
Last night was the results show of So You Think You Can Dance, and with two dancers eliminated, we found out who our four finalists were.
I am happy and sad. Happy that Evan and Jeanine are in the top 4, but sad we said goodbye to Melissa and Ade, meaning that Brandon and Kayla are joining the Top 4. Blah.
I just hope that Evan wins and everyone backs off and gives him the credit he deserves, and if not Evan then Jeanine should win. I love both of them and can’t wait for next week’s show!
Back to last night though, the group performance in the beginning was a contemporary routine by Tyce Diorio, to the song Send in the Clowns. The contestants were dressed up like harlequin clown dolls, and I loved it. It was a very sad routine and I think it should be on tour!
Also on last night’s show, the four emmy-nominated routines from last season were performed. I really enjoyed watching Mercy, choreographed by Mia Michaels and danced by Twitch and Katee again. It was great, except for the prop door having malfunctions. lol.
My favorite routine from last night’s emmy nominated dances was the Bleeding Love, routine choreographed by Nappy Tabs and danced by Chelsie and Mark. It was still as wonderful as last year and still as moving. Yay for Chelsie and Mark!!
So goodbye Melissa and Ade, you are both wonderful dancers and we look forward to seeing you on tour.
That’s it for today but check back this weekend for my weekly review!
