News, news and more news! Thursday is a bit busy so let’s get to it!

Damages has added Campbell Scott (Six Degrees) to the cast as a regular. There hasn’t been much said about the exact role, whether he’ll be a client, an enemy or a co-worker your guess is as good as anyone’s! However taping starts again at the end of September and we’ll see the third season premiere sometime in the new year. Any thoughts on Scott’s character? Source

More after the jump

Laura Linney (Kinsey, Frasier) has signed on to star in the new cutting edge half-hour dark comedy, The C Word. The C Word will expose the ups and downs of a wife dealing with everyday challenges, like cancer, who tries to find the positive in the negative. This series will remind us how we need to live each day to the fullest and remember to laugh at the hard things too. The pilot has been ordered and will begin shooting in the fall, the show will eventually air on Showtime. I’m excited to see where they go with this especially after the success of the brilliant Showtime comedy Nurse Jackie. Cancer isn’t always funny, but life is funny, so this may be an uplifting yet humorous show. Source

Joss Whedon is starting to take over the world!! Okay, just kidding 😉 but Whedon is pulling a lot of people he formerly worked with back into his orbit with guest stints on Dollhouse. The latest additions are Summer Glau (The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly) and Alexis Denisof (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel). Glau will be playing Bennett, who shares a past with Echo (Eliza Dushku). Denisof will be playing Sen. Daniel Perrin who is out to expose the Dollhouse. I’m excited for this casting and Dollhouse already stars Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and has had recurring appearances by Amy Acker (Angel). Whedon is a genius, and his shows become fan favorites, so I hope this season of Dollhouse can make a stand in ratings, and really excel with it’s writing. Source

According to Ausiello, Brandon Routh (Superman) has been cast as Shaw on Chuck. Shaw will be a new spy who takes over control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski, causing Chuck to idolize him and giving Chuck competition for Sarah’s attention. I think this is hot casting, and who doesn’t love Superman?

Here’s a spoiler chat to wet your appetite for fall! There are some details on Gossip Girl, House and Bones. Enjoy, but don’t click if you don’t like SPOILERS!

That’s it for tonight, sorry the news was up so late. My daughter went to my sister’s for the night and I fell asleep. I think I really needed that nap 🙂 Take care.
