Monday

Monday is the season finale of Top Gear on BBC America at 8/7c.

Tonight is the series premiere of Accidentally on Purpose on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. It stars Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg, Courting Alex), Jon Foster (Windfall, Life As We Know It), Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty, Extras), Grant Show (Private Practice, Swingtown, Melrose Place (1992)), Lennon Parham (Confessions of a Shopaholic) & Nicolas Wright (Tipping Point, The Business). The comedy is about Billie (Elfman), a single woman who finds herself “accidentally” pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby… and the guy. A newspaper film critic, Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James (Show), who’s still trying to resume their relationship. Suddenly expecting a child with her “boy toy,” Zack (Foster), Billie and Zack make an arrangement: to live together platonically. Billie’s party girl best friend Olivia (Jensen), and Abby (Parham), her conventional, younger married sister, eagerly look forward to the new addition and offer their own brands of advice and encouragement. But when Zack and his freeloading friends, including Davis (Wright), start to turn her place into a frat house, Billie isn’t sure if she’s living with a boyfriend, a roommate, or if she just has another child to raise. Jenna Elfman is absolutely a riot, and Jon Foster is pretty damn fun to look at in my opinion, so I’m hoping this show rocks… As a bonus, Jenna just announced a few days ago that she is pregnant in real life as well, so that’s kind of fun. *shrug* 🙂

Tuesday

Tuesday is the series finale of Ruby & the Rockits on ABC Family at 8:30/7:30c.

Tonight is also the season finale of 2 shows. First up is the finale of Warehouse 13 on Syfy at 9/8c. This has been one of mine and my family’s favorite shows from the very first episode. We absolutely love it and were thrilled when it was renewed! The other season finale is The Colony on the Discovery Channel at 10/9c.

Tonight is the season premiere of Table for 12 on TLC at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c.

Tonight is also the season premiere of NCIS on CBS at 8/7c. (YAY!)

Following that, at 9/8c, is the series premiere of it’s sister show, NCIS: Los Angeles. If you watched the end of last season of NCIS, you saw the beginnings of the new series. It stars LL Cool J (In the House & is also a singer/rapper), Chris O’Donnell (Max Payne, Grey’s Anatomy, Fried Green Tomatoes), Peter Cambor (Notes from the Underbelly), Adam Jamal Craig, Daniela Ruah & Linda Hunt (Stranger Than Fiction, Carnivale). The show is a drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation’s security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets. Special Agent “G” Callen (O’Donnell) is a chameleon who transforms himself into whomever he needs to be to infiltrate the criminal underworld. His partner is Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J), a former U.S. Navy SEAL who has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and a surveillance expert who uses state of the art monitoring equipment to look out for those in the field and feed them crucial information. Both Callen and Hanna report to Special Agent Lara Macy (Louise Lombard), the OSP team leader responsible for directing the operations and making life-or-death decisions. Assisting the team is Special Agent Kensi Lo (Ruah), the exceptionally bright daughter of a slain Marine who lives for the adrenalin rush that comes with undercover work, and Operational Psychologist Nate Getz (Cambor), adept at getting into anybody’s head, profiling the target and monitoring agents’ states of mind before, during and after missions. Armed with the latest in high tech gear and sent regularly into life-threatening situations, this tight-knit team relies on each other to do what is necessary to protect national interests.

Following that is the series premiere of The Good Wife at 10/9c, also on CBS. It stars Julianna Margulies (E.R., Canterbury’s Law), Chris Noth (Sex & the City, Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Graham Phillips (Evan Almighty), Makenzie Vega (Just My Luck, The Geena Davis Show), Matt Czuchry (Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls), Archie Panjabi (Personal Affairs, Traitor, The Constant Gardener), Christine Baranski (Ugly Betty, Mamma Mia!, Happy Days) & Josh Charles (In Treatment, Four Brothers). This drama stars Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who must assume full responsibility for her family and re-enter the workforce after her husband’s very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and crushing public humiliation caused by her husband Peter (Noth), Alicia Florrick (Margulies) starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney.

The third series premiere tonight is The Forgotten on ABC at 10/9c. It stars Christian Slater (My Own Worst Enemy, The Good Shepherd), Anthony Carrigan, Bob Stephenson (Jericho, Adaptation), Heather Stephens, Michelle Borth (Tell Me You Love Me, Wonderland) & Rochelle Aytes (Drive, White Chicks). From executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer comes a crime show in which a team of dedicated amateurs work on cases involving unidentified victims. After the police have given up, this group must first solve the puzzle of the victim’s identity in order to then help catch the killer. They work to give the deceased back their names, lest they become — The Forgotten.

Finally, the last series premiere tonight is The Naughty Kitchen with Chef Blythe Beck on Oxygen at 10/9c. It stars Blythe Beck, obviously. Chef Blythe Beck, a fiery young chef and Texas native, shows off her distinctive sexy American cuisine, her cutting edge Dallas restaurant, Central 214, and her loud and flamboyant staff. The show is certain to cook up the drama both in and out of the kitchen.

Wednesday

Wednesday is the season finale of Man vs Wild on the Discovery Channel at 9/8c.

The first series premiere of the night is Mercy on NBC at 8/7c. It stars Taylor Schilling (Dark Matter), Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl), James Tupper (Men in Trees), James LeGros (Vantage Point, Sleeper Cell), Jaime Lee Kirchner (Just Legal, Rescue Me), Guillermo Diaz (Weeds), Diego Klattenhoff (Men in Trees, Whistler, Supernatural) & Delroy Lindo (Kidnapped, Heist). This new medical drama with a unique point of view, portrays the lives of the staff at Mercy Hospital as seen through the eyes of those who know it best — its nurses. Nurse Veronica Callahan (Schilling) returns to Mercy from a military tour in Iraq — and she knows more about medicine than all of the residents combined. Together with fellow nurses Sonia Jimenez (Kirchner) and Chloe Payne (Trachtenberg), Callahan navigates through the daily traumas and social landmines of life and love both inside the hospital and out in the real world. The cast also includes: Dr. Chris Sands (Tupper), a new doctor at the hospital who complicates Veronica’s life; Mike Callahan (Klattenhoff), Veronica’s husband; Nurse Angel Lopez (Diaz).

Next up is the series premiere of Modern Family on ABC at 9/8c. It stars Ariel Winter (One Missed Call, So noTORIous), Ed O’Neill (Married with Children, John from Cincinnati), Eric Stonestreet (CSI, Almost Famous), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (The Class, Untraceable), Julie Bowen (Ed, Boston Legal), Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez (Epic Movie), Sarah Hyland (Lipstick Jungle, One Life to Live), Sofia Vergara (Dirty Sexy Money, The Knights of Prosperity) & Ty Burrell (Back to You, Out of Practice). Today’s American families come in all shapes and sizes. Shot from the perspective of an unseen documentary filmmaker, this comedy takes a modern look at the complications that come with being a family in 2009. I’ve seen the pilot and really, really loved it. So has Megan, and she also really enjoyed it. Check out our review here: TV Is My Pacifier’s Modern Family Review

Following Modern Family is the series premiere of Cougar Town at 9:30/8:30c, also on ABC. It stars Courteney Cox (Friends), Busy Philipps (E.R., Dawson’s Creek), Christa Miller (Scrubs, The Drew Carey Show), Josh Hopkins (Private Practice, Swingtown, Ally McBeal), Ian Gomez (Rita Rocks, Jake in Progress, The Drew Carey Show), Dan Byrd (Aliens in America, The Hills Have Eyes) & Brian Van Holt (John from Cincinnati, Threshold). Courteney Cox stars as Jules, a recently divorced single mother exploring the honest truths about dating and aging in our beauty and youth obsessed culture. While most women in their twenties go through life experiencing the challenges and often humorous pitfalls of meeting men, Jules took on the responsibilities of marriage and raising a son. Now in her forties, she embarks on a journey to self-discovery whilst surrounded by fellow divorcees and singletons eager to live or re-live a time gone by.

Three very different women find themselves drawn together by a mysterious man who unleashes unique powers in each of them, and this small New England town will never be the same. The series is based on the popular movie The Witches of Eastwick and on the novel of the same title by John Updike.
