TV News – 10/5/09

It’s Monday and the week has begun… what does yours look like right now? Mine looks full and busy but good 🙂 A few bits of news, so let’s get started. (Note from Jenny: Sorry this is up so late! Megan had it ready hours ago, but I was asleep. Oops!)

Showtime has renewed Californication for a fourth season, with 12 new episodes coming sometime 2010. The show, led by the wonderful David Duchovny, has been steadily gaining viewers. The show is by no means a show for kids or a “family” show but it is funny, and dark and I think it was a smart move on Showtime’s behalf. Source

More after the jump.

Some more renewal news, Top Chef has been picked up for a seventh season! Right now Top Chef is the number one rated food show on cable (Bravo), and has earned it. The competitions are great, and I’m excited for another season. Also on Bravo is a new food show titled, Chef Academy, which premieres on November 16th. Source

The set of Bones has been shut down because of a flu outbreak, Boreanaz himself is ill. Although rumours of it being swine flu are circulating it has been said that “there are no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu. We expect him back tomorrow. “ (Said via Bones’ creator, Hart Hanson’s Twitter) This is kind of a retraction after Hanson originally said via Twitter, “Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus.” First this shows us that Twitter is a dangerous tool at times 😉 and second it shows us that at the moment Boreanaz is just ill with the flu and we should all relax. Okay? I’ll let everyone know if we hear anything else about it really being the H1N1 virus, in the meantime feel better soon David! Source

Hottie Chris O’Donnell of NCIS: Los Angeles is getting his first real crush in November. Monet Mazur (40 Days and 40 Nights) will be Natalie Buccola, which may become a recurring role. Buccola will be a secret service agent, who’s smart and gets her flirt on with O’Donnell’s character Callen. I like this, because every leading man needs a love story, right? No seriously, I’m enjoying this show and O’Donnell’s character could use some loving. 😉 Source

In closing, here’s a spoiler chat from E!Online and it’s good. With some details on Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Fringe and The Office, it’s worth the read. However, if you are crazy and don’t like spoilers, then don’t click the link 😉 Everyone else, CLICK away 🙂

That’s it for tonight, see you all tomorrow.
