TV News – 10/20/09

First, I’d like to say a special Happy Birthday to my niece! She’s 11 today! Okay, I am still under the weather with this cold, but I’ve got a little news for all of you tonight.

Castle has been picked up for a full season. It was originally only picked up for 13 episodes but ABC has ordered the additional 9 episodes. This is good news, seeing as I love this show. It’s a great dramedy and I think that Nathan Fillion (Drive, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) is fabulous as Richard Castle. Source

More after the jump.

According to Ausiello, the head boss of Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry has changed his mind about whether he was going to kill off any characters with his big plane crash on Wisteria Lane in November. Originally he said that he was not going to kill anyone off, but Ausiello is reporting that Cherry is actually going to kill “several” people “including one..fan favorite”. Hmm.. Thoughts? Ausiello has his but I’m anxious to hear yours!

Some casting news for you. First, Lucy Kate Hale (Privileged) is polishing up final details to star in soon to be ordered ABC Family drama, Pretty Little Liars. The show sounds decent with it being a cross between I Know What You Did Last Summer and in my opinion Gossip Girl. I think it’ll be a hit, especially with Hale’s talent added to the mix.

Wilmer Valderrama has been picked to play the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, in the new FOX sitcom based on Millan’s life. I don’t know about this. I love Valderrama, he’s hilarious, but a show about doesn’t sound like something I’m interested in. Source

That’s all for now, check back tomorrow for more news!
