Tonight is the series premiere of Worst-Case Scenario on the Discovery Channel at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. The show is based on the bestselling series of books. On the show, survival expert and Man vs. Wild host Bear Grylls portrays potentially life-threatening situations to demonstrate how to survive in a worst case scenario. Filmed like a feature film, Grylls pushes his physical boundaries – part stuntman, part urban survivalist – to exhibit scenarios that viewers could find themselves in and equip them with potentially life-saving information. In each episode, Grylls shows viewers that the right knowledge and skills can help anyone succeed in urban survival situations that could arise without warning, from escaping a high-rise apartment fire to fending off a shark attack to escaping out of a sinking car. The various situations featured on Worst-Case Scenario have been produced to model those in the book series. Other dire situations featured throughout the series include escaping from a frozen lake and surviving a multi-story elevator plunge or a fall down a flight of stairs.

Thursday

Thursday is the series premiere of four shows. First up is the premiere of The Dudesons In America on MTV at 10/9c. The Dudesons, four Finnish extreme stuntmen and pranksters, are totally lovable, yet totally lunatic friends from the Arctic Circle who want to live out their American dream – to do even stupider stunts and pranks than they did back home. In The Dudesons in America, Jukka Hilden (the ringleader), Jarppi Leppala (the fat funny guy), HP Parviainen (Mr. Sensitive), and Jarno Laasala (the filmmaker) want to take over America as they try to win over local townsfolk and whatever authorities they’ll likely encounter while doing the dumbest things imaginable. In the spirit of the American West, the Nordic knuckleheads try to become cowboys by walking on stilts into a bullring with a very angry bull. And when they’ve conquered enough of what’s on the ground of the U.S.A., they follow the American dream of space exploration; the Dudesons try to reach Uranus in their self-built space rocket.

Following that is the series premiere of Ultimate Parkour Challenge at 10:30/9:30c, also on MTV. It showcases the world’s fastest growing extreme sport, parkour. In each episode, the series takes us live every week from locations around southern California including The Queen Mary, Venice Beach, Hollyridge Castle, and many others. Some of the best athletes in the world including Danny Ilabaca, Ryan Doyle, Oleg Vorslav, and Tim Schieff will challenge themselves and each other as they put their parkour skills to the test in different urban environments. Each episode ends in a thrilling live speed round; the winner of that round will then be awarded a prize. The essence of parkour is as simple as a game of chase. Athletes move as efficiently as possible from point A to point B. However, unlike a regular track and field race, parkour is performed in any and every environment. Athletes must jump, roll, climb, leap, sprint, flip and fly, flowing over walls, cars, stairs, railings, and 10-foot rooftop gaps between 5 story buildings.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Imploders on TLC at 9/8c. This explosive six-part series following the Idaho-based Kelly family — the world’s greatest demolition experts – as they struggle to manage family life on the road while running a dangerous demolition business. Each episode follows Advanced Explosives Demolition (AED) owners Lisa and Eric Kelly as they travel around America risking life and limb, breaking demolition records and bringing down buildings while trying to keep their dynamic family in one piece.

Following that is the series premiere of Heavy Haulers at 10/9c, also on TLC. The show documents the dangerous and dirty exploits of Jeremy Patterson and his larger-than-life family as they move record-breaking superstructures across America for a living.

Kara DioGuardi (American Idol) is one of the guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, on NBC at 11:35/10:35c.

I’m not sure. I know they moved it last week and it’s on the schedule for the rest of the season at this time. *shrug*
