TV News – 5/12/10

Alright so how many of you LOVED Glee last night? All of you right? It was freaking fantastic, and I really enjoyed the story line with Rachel and Finn. Also how hot was Puck (Mark Salling) singing Lady is a Tramp? 😀 I’ll be reviewing the whole episode later tonight, but for now let’s talk news!

humantargetAusiello is reporting that FOX is planning on picking up BOTH Lie to Me and Human Target for 13 episodes each. Wow, I didn’t see that one coming but I’m happy with the decision. Jonathan Steinberg and Matthew Miller will take over as show runners of Lie to Me while Shawn Ryan goes on with his new show Ride-Along which is also being picked up by FOX. In addition to these shows, FOX has signed on to Lone Star and the comedies, Traffic Light and Keeping Hope Alive. We’ll be seeing the whole FOX schedule and pick ups/cancellations on May 17th. NBC has just announced that it’s picking up another new show for fall, Perfect Couples. It’s a comedy that follows three different couples as the travel the ups and downs of love and relationships. It looks okay, but I’m starting to think that there are going to be too many comedies about love and relationships in the fall aren’t you? Source

More after the jump

The nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards have been announced and CBS (which is the hosting network) got a few nods, as did the ever lovely Rachel Ray and the hilarious Ellen Degeneres Show. The awards will air on June 27th on CBS, and for a complete list of nominees head over to The Futon Critic.

The Sarah Silverman Program has been officially cancelled, and I’m not surprised. The show has been struggling with ratings and it’s been on the chopping block for a while now. It’s sad because it was amusing, but all good things must come to an end. Source

That’s all for now. Don’t miss an all new Criminal Minds tonight at 9 pm on CBS, as well as American Idol results show tonight at 9 pm on FOX. Enjoy!
