If I didn’t know better I would have thought that today was a freaking Monday! While I had a good time at a lunch date, the rest of my day proceeded to crumble around me. Universe? You are NOT funny! 😉 Alright that’s my mini-rant over for now, thanks for listening. 😀 Let’s move away from my issues and onto some news.
I actually liked the show Trauma but apparently that wasn’t enough for NBC, they have cancelled Trauma, Mercy and Heroes. It’s not that I’m surprised the ratings were awful, but I’m just saying it would have been nice to see Trauma get some better marketing and given another shot. Heroes has run it’s course and Mercy ended on an unfortunate cliff-hanger. 🙁 On the bright side, they have renewed Chuck so you win some you lose some. Source
More after the jump
On a brighter NBC note, the network has picked up 3 new dramas and one comedy. The Cape is a drama about a police officer (David Lyons) that is framed for murder and he’s forced into hiding. He later becomes The Cape, a superhero. Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) also appears in this series.
Outlaw is the second new drama and it stars Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue), as a Supreme Court Justice who quits after seeing that the system doesn’t work the way he thought it did.
David E. Kelley brings us a new drama, Harry’s Law, about how fate and destiny bring people together. Harriet (Kathy Bates) is a lawyer who ends up working cases from a shoe store, and giving people hope.
Finally we have a comedy from Brian Grazer, Friends with Benefits, about a group of singles in their twenties trying to make it through the baffling world of dating. It stars Ryan Hansen (Party Down), Danneel Harris (One Tree Hill) and Fran Kranz (Dollhouse). I’m actually looking forward to Harry’s Law and The Cape, while I think that Friends with Benefits looks funny there are just so many other comedies about love and relationships starting up in the Fall. Which ones will you watch? Source
Speaking of pick ups, ABC has picked up the new drama from Shonda Rhimes, Off the Map, about a medical team that work at a centre on a tropical island. It’ll star Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy) and others. Also picked up was the new crime drama starring Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives), Body of Proof. Proof is about a medical examiner (Delany) who used to be a neurosurgeon and is often stubborn and stands up for her beliefs. For more on these pick ups and others head over here
