TV News – 5/27/10

Still not a ton of news going on, well at least interesting news, but what I have is yours for the taking. (I’m just generous like that ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Unfortunately, ABC has decided not to pick up Ghost Whisperer. ๐Ÿ™ After CSB dropped the drama last week, there was hope that because it was owned by ABC Studios, the network would pick it up, but alas they didn’t. I’m quite disappointed by this, and after five seasons I’ve come to love the show and will miss it a lot. Tell me how you’re feeling in the comments, or by twitter (@BaffledAddict). Source

More after the jump.

Maura Tierney is in talks to join ABC’s new legal drama, The Whole Truth, replacing Joely Richardson who quite earlier this month for family reasons. I’m all for any show bringing Tierney back to TV, especially now that’s she’s doing better. As you remember last year she had to leave her role in Parenthood to receive treatment for cancer, Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) took over for her. Yay for Tierney taking over! I’ll let you know when it becomes official. Source

Is it me or do the concepts of reality shows on the Syfy network seem like an oxymoron? That’s what I thought until I read about the new reality shows Syfy is adding to their schedule. First there’s ,Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen will follow Marcel Vigneron (from Top Chef), as he trys to “employ molecular gastronomy” in his new catering company. Second is Paranormal Witness is a docudrama that will introduce someone each week who’s been scared by this or that. Last there’s Face Off which is a competition for special-effects makeup artists.
All the shows, fit the Syfy category but will they succeed? I’m not sure, what do you think? Source

That’s all for tonight, except for… the winner of American Idol!

Lee Dewyze was crowned the season 9 American Idol and I was so happy for him. He was adorable when it was announced, so surprised and he was just a class act. In my opinion either one of them could have won and I enjoy them both, but I do love Lee. He’s sexy, sweet and really seems like an honest to goodness nice guy, and that matters.

In other Idol news, Crystal Bowersox admitted in an interview with Ryan Seacrest, that her long time boyfriend, Tony (the guy in the audience with those horrible flag pants), went home the day of the performances. He decided he just wasn’t the jet setting kind of guy, but really the day of the performances? No wonder her songs were so emotion filled! She says it’s okay, and I say she’ll be fine. Her and Lee can sing love songs to each other and light the room on fire with their chemistry. That is as long as she knows if I ever get the chance I’m going to run away with Lee ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Don’t worry my husband is fully prepared for this possibility ๐Ÿ˜€ ) All joking aside, in my opinion they will all do great on tour and I can’t wait to buy Lee and Crystal’s albums. Congratulation to them both for how far they’ve come!

Now that’s really all, sorry about the tardiness, but genius takes time. ๐Ÿ˜€

I absolutely adore Ghost Whisperer, so thanks for the bad news Megan. ๐Ÿ˜€ No seriously, I will miss it, it was a great show.
I was really looking forward Joely Richardson in The Whole Truth, but the show sounds promising, so I will be watching even without her.
And finally, Lee is the best! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was so proud of him when Ryan said his name, it was a great moment. I also got emotional when Simon was saying his goodbye, it will never be the same show without him…

  2. Megan says:

I’m sorry I couldn’t bribe ABC to pick up Ghost Whisperer I’m just a little old me ๐Ÿ˜€
I adore Lee, and I too was emotional when Simon was saying goodbye it was sad. It’ll be different without him for sure, but hopefully Harry Connick Jr does it and that would be entertaining and helpful to the contestants.
