This Week on TV – 6/13/10-6/19/10

Welcome to a new week of TV! Another kind of crazy week, although not nearly as bad as last week! There’s a good handful of finales and premieres, both series & season. So check it out, and be sure and let us know what you’re looking forward to! Jump with me to view this week’s schedule.

Sunday

Sunday is the season finale of Breaking Bad on AMC at 10/9c.

Tonight is the series premiere of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network at 10/9c. Each week, four of the country’s top cupcake bakers face off in three elimination challenges until only one decorator remains. The sweet prize: $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase their cupcakes at the winning gig. Whether a special Ace of Cakes anniversary celebration, a star-studded magazine party, or an A-list celebrity golf tournament, these cupcakes wars really heat up. Candace Nelson (owner of Sprinkles Cupcakes) and Florian Bellanger (chef and co-owner of online macaroon company MadMac) serve as permanent judges with a third rotating judge each week, and Justin Willman hosts.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Holly’s World on E! at 10:30/9:30c. This reality series follows “The Girls Next Door” alum, Holly Madison, on and off stage as she stars in the Vegas production “Peepshow.”

The series focuses on a beleaguered analyst, Will Travers, who, faced with a shocking tragedy, begins to uncover clues that point to a complex and sinister conspiracy. The show’s cast includes James Badge Dale (The Pacific), Dallas Roberts (The L Word), Jessica Collins (The Nine, CSI), Christopher Evan Welch, Lauren Hodges (Law & Order) with Arliss Howard and Oscar(R)-nominated actress Miranda Richardson.

Saturday

Saturday is the 3-hour season finale of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV at 9/8c.

Tonight is the series premiere of Last Chance Highway on Animal Planet at 8/7c. Time is running out for millions of animals across the country. In many southern states where spay-and-neuter laws aren’t readily enforced and tough economic times are forcing many people to choose between caring for themselves or their pets, the number of stray and abandoned dogs is soaring. Shelters plagued by overcrowding and a lack of resources are unable to provide these animals with one critical thing: time. So the race against the clock begins. Thanks to some incredible people who have dedicated themselves to beating that ticking clock, thousands of dogs every year are rescued and transported to the North, and most of us don’t even know that it’s happening. Animal Planet will change that as it shines the spotlight on two very special people on a mission and a network of volunteers as they fight to give dogs a second chance at life. This series follows Shelly Bookwalter and Kyle Peterson as they forge an alliance to give unwanted dogs across the South one last chance at survival. With the support of her family and friends, Shelly devotes her time and money to saving stray and unclaimed shelter dogs from a tragic fate. She spends hours finding and placing them with foster families, posting the available pets on Petfinder.com and interviewing potential owners; she successfully places close to 650 rescued dogs with loving families every year. Kyle works with Shelly and her volunteers to pick up adopted dogs to transport them to their new homes in the Northeast.

Finally, tonight is a 1-hour ‘Bear’s Top 25 Man Moments’ special for Man vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel at 9/8c.
