Sunday

Sunday is the series finale of The Tudors on Showtime at 9/8c & ‘Til Death on FOX at 7/6c. Tonight is also the 90-minute season finale of Treme on HBO at 10/9c.

Tonight is the series premiere of Scoundrels on ABC at 9/8c. A family of small-town criminals is shaken when their father is sentenced to a surprisingly long prison term, leaving mom to take care of the criminally enterprising brood. In an effort to keep her kids out of trouble, she decides it’s time for the family to go straight, despite their best efforts to maintain the status quo. It stars Virgina Madsen as Cheryl West, the mother who must take charge and try to keep her kids on the straight and narrow, David James Elliott (JAG) as Wolfgang “Wolf” West, Patrick Flueger (The 4400) as Logan West/Calvin “Cal” West, Leven Rambin (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Heather West, Vanessa Marano (Dexter, The Young and the Restless) as Hope West and Carlos Bernard (24) as Sergeant Mack.

Following that is the series premiere of The Gates on ABC at 10/9c. Nestled inside a private mountain community are The Gates. The image of perpetual suburban bliss, each street is lined with perfectly manicured homes protected by the massive iron gates, but a dark and delicious secret is buried just beneath the surface of this picturesque neighborhood. Like most families that settle inside The Gates, the Monahans are unmoored from a complicated life they abandoned in Chicago. Named the new police chief of The Gates, Nick Monahan is expecting a change of pace in this quiet suburb. Nick’s wife, Sarah, and their children, Charlie and Dana, are embarking on new adventures as well. Their house is to die for, but amidst the excitement, Sarah is still burdened with the revelation that her husband may not be the man she thought he was. Charlie and Dana will also face some challenges of their own: Along with navigating the trials and tribulations of adolescence, they’ll also face the daunting task of fitting into their new upscale school, where their new friends run in tight-knit packs. There’s something very different about this place, almost… haunting. Unions will be complicated by friends with unnatural influence, insatiable housewives will struggle with ravenous cravings, and teenagers will be cursed with keeping their beastly instincts in check. The Monahans are facing an uncertain fate. Nick is about to be tangled up in a mystery where he will begin to piece together the dark truth about their new home, and the supernatural elements that lurk behind the shadows of The Gates. It stars: Chandra West (John from Cincinnati, NYPD Blue) as Devon, Colton Haynes as Brett Crezski, Frank Grillo (The Kill Point, Prison Break, Blind Justice) as Nick Monohan, Janina Gavankar (The L Word) as Leigh Turner, Justin Miles as Marcus Jordan, Luke Mably as Dylan Radcliff, Marisol Nichols (24, In Justice) as Sarah Monahan, Rhona Mitra (Boston Legal, The Practice) as Claire Radcliff, Skyler Samuels as Andie Bates, Travis Caldwell as Charlie Monohan & Victoria Platt (Guiding Light) as Peg Mueller.

Also tonight is the series premiere of The Real L Word on Showtime at 10/9c. This reality show, inspired by the famed, long-running Showtime series The L Word, will follow a group of real-life, hot and happening lesbians in their daily lives at work and play in Los Angeles. Sometimes real life is even more compelling than fiction.

Tonight is the season premiere of Leverage on TNT at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c.

Tonight is the series premiere of Ultimate Car Build Off on the Discovery Channel at 9/8c. In this tournament-style competition, America’s top shops compete for a chance at glory and a $100,000 grand prize. Each episode features two rival garages (from Los Angeles, Detroit and Atlanta) going head-to-head in a battle to build whatever challenge is thrown at them, whether it’s turning a minivan into a high performance super car or creating a submersible vehicle. Each team has only 40 hours to complete their build before the real competition begins – testing their vehicle. The goal is to win each round, eventually making it to the finals and taking home the cash. Hosted and judged by master builder Lou Santiago and professional driver Andrew “ACP” Picard – with the design category judged by legendary designer Chip Foose.

Following that is the series premiere of Heartland Thunder on the Discovery Channel at 10/9c. In the heart of the Midwestern corn-belt, a grassroots racing scene as passionate and dangerous as any in the country is thriving. It is a community fueled by the love of America, the love of family, and the love of racing. The show follows four people who live just outside of Kansas City, KS, and live for one thing: Friday night dirt track racing! Tim Karrick, Justin Boney, Tom Charles and his son Dan Charles are driven by the thrill of speed and competition. Amidst holding down working-man jobs and devoting time to their loyal families, we’ll see them spend long days and short nights in their garages re-tooling their engines and re-building their “modified” cars during the week, all in hopes of finding glory on Friday nights.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Inedible to Incredible on TLC at 10/9c. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the kitchen! Each week, someone who thinks they can cook – but really can’t – is nominated by friends and family to get a recipe makeover from expert chef John Besh. Chef Besh helps the aspiring cooks rework their meal to win back the palates of their loved ones.

Thursday

Thursday is the series premiere of Rookie Blue on ABC at 9/8c. A fun, fresh, high-stakes drama with a twist of danger follows the lives of five young, ambitious cops right out of the Academy. From their very first day on the job, these rookies are plunged into the world of big city policing, a world where even the smallest mistake can have life-or-death consequences and serious emotional fall-out. The soul of this close-knit group is 26-year-old perfectionist Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym, Reaper). Honest to a fault, all Andy has ever wanted to be is “good police.” Her father was a cop, and while he wasn’t the best cop — or the best father – Andy knows she’ll never find this sense of family, loyalty and excitement in any other job. The series explores the trials, triumphs, competition and camaraderie of Andy and her rookie family — boyfriends, best friends, mentors and competitors — who are about to learn that no amount of training can prepare them for life. It also stars Gregory Smith (Everwood), Travis Milne, Enuka Okuma (Due Thomas: F.B.Eye), Charlotte Sullivan & Eric Johnson (Flash Gordon, Smallville).

Following that is the series premiere of Boston Med on ABC at 10/9c. Picking up where Hopkins left off, Boston Med travels to a city renowned for medical excellence and home to three superb American hospitals, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Children’s Hospital. Over four months, ABC cameras had unparalleled access to hospital staffs and patients. From operating rooms to end-of-life meetings, Boston Med explores the culture of doctors and nurses and the conversations that happen outside the patient’s earshot. This unsparing look at the ups and downs of hospital care holds many surprises for viewers.
