TV News – 7/7/10

I started off with the best of intentions but frankly life got in the way. I’m here now and I’ve got news.

Skeet Ulrich (Jericho) will be playing one of the lead detectives in Law & Order : Los Angeles starting this fall. He’ll be playing, Rex Winters, an ex-marine who has the the nose of a cop. He believes that the world is a messed up place and that it’s black or white, that is people are good or bad. He did however marry his ex-partner. Ulrich is the first cast in the new Law & Order, and I’m happy he’s there because I’ve missed him since Jericho. I just wish he’d joined a different show, and frankly I think the title of this Law & Order is moronic and lazy. There’s already NCIS: LA, maybe they could have been more original and thought of another police procedural department to use or maybe they’ve used them up already. 😉 Source

More news served with mediocre sarcasm after the jump.

Marg Helgenberger who plays Catherine Willows on CSI will be returning in the fall. She’s signed a new contract for season 11, as has Eric Szmanda (Greg), but George Eads (Nick), Paul Guilfoyle (Jim) and Jorja Fox (Sara) are all still in talks. I’m glad Helgenberger is coming back because the show wouldn’t be the same without Catherine. I wish they’d bring back Grissom and then the show would be better. Source

The hilarious Hot in Cleveland has been picked up for a second season of 20 episodes, which will start production in fall 2010. I’m not surprised, it’s a great show and Betty White makes it amazing. White is an icon people would watch just for her, but luckily they keep us watching with funny moments from all the characters. If you haven’t seen it yet tune in to TV Land Wednesday nights at 10 pm to see why it’s so fabulous. Source

I’m excited to inform you that Tom Welling will be at the Smallville panel at Comic-Con! He’s only been present one other Comic-con during the series 9 seasons, but this is the shows final season, so he’s coming out. Yay! I’m excited, mostly because I’ll be there 😉 but also because it’s only fitting that the man himself helps send the series off with flare. Don’t you agree? Source

I wrote the other day that Javier Bardem would be guesting on Glee this coming season, and at the moment it’s not confirmed. Some are saying he isn’t, some are sticking to their guns saying he is, but what am I saying? I’m saying stop. Everyone stop. I apologize for posting the story if it was indeed untrue (but Ausiello is very rarely wrong.), and I say this to the producers at Glee “No more guest stars, and this problem would be solved. You have a stellar cast and story, you don’t need big names (i.e. Molly Shannon) to make us watch. That said if a guest star can bring our beloved characters better story lines that are filled with emotion and beautiful songs (i.e. Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris), then you can bring it on. Otherwise, keep your guest stars to a minimum and maybe focus on the cast that isn’t getting used as much like Harry Shum Jr. and Dijon Talon.” There I’ve said it, and I’ll say it no more. (Okay we all know I will again 😉 )

That’s all for now, hope you enjoyed it. For the record less than 2 weeks for Comic-Con and I am so excited? Who else is going?
