TV News – 7/28/10

Wednesday and it makes me happy because the weekend is almost here, well almost. 😉 Let’s take a look at news in the television world today.

Kevin Rankin (Friday Night Lights) has joined the cast of The Mentalist as Jane’s (Simon Baker) brother-in-law,Danny Ruskin. His character will be “a hustler, a con artist, a ladies’ man.” The role may end up being a recurring role, with his debut episode airing on September 30th. It’s being said that Jane will have a soft spot for Danny because of his late wife. I am SO excited about this casting, Rankin is a fabulous actor and I’m sure once people fall in love with him we’ll see him all the time. What do you think? Source

James Marsters (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will be guest starring on Hawaii Five-0 pilot as a very naughty boy. ***Possible Spoilers on pilot episode if you keep reading, consider yourself warned.*** Marsters is so good at being bad, that he has made the executives of the show, want to have him back. There is talk that his villain, Victor Hess, will be the long time thorn in Steve McGarrett’s (Alex O’Loughlin) side, despite his possible drowning in the pilot. I love Marsters, even when he was evil Spike on Buffy, I loved to hate him. Any role that Marsters plays whether villain or hero I’ll be watching, the question is will you? Source

Finally for tonight, some How I Met Your Mother casting news. Rachel Bilson (The O.C.) is going to returning in the season premiere playing Cindy, the roommate of the elusive mother. I know I’m hoping that this means we’re going to get closer to the reveal of Ted’s future wife, aren’t you? Whatever the case, I usually enjoy seeing Bilson on TV and think it’s great she’s returning.Source

I’m going to work on getting a few details from Comic-Con written up and posted for you to read, but to be honest it’s all like a dream still. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and I thank everyone for reading the site, because it gave me the reason to go. 😀
