Today was a big day for me (Jenny). My kiddo is on his way to his first day of Junior High, and I’m a nervous wreck. Granted, today and tomorrow are basically just introduction day. Today, only the 7th graders get to go, so they can get a feel for the school, a tour of the school and a walkthrough of their schedules, etc, without having to worry about the 8th graders. But still! It’s a scary, scary thought for me, like sending him out into the world on his own. LOL Scott (my husband) took off work today, so we’re going to spend it watching TV and movies, playing cards, and just keeping our minds off the fact that our son is in JUNIOR HIGH. haha Anyway, enough about me! Let’s get to mine and Megan’s recommendations, shall we?
Tonight’s episode of Rizzoli & Isles should be FUNNY. Jane and Maura investigate what appears to be a hate crime, the brutal assault and murder of a woman leaving a lesbian bar. With Jane going undercover, they hope to lure the killer out in the open. Off the job, Maura hooks Jane up with a handsome yoga instructor. Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives) and Antonio Sabato Jr. guest-star.

I saw a promo for tonight’s episode, and Maura is undercover as well, I believe, and having a blast. It should be really fun. 😀 I love this show, and every episode just hammers that point for me. Check out the new episode tonight on TNT at 10/9c.
Tonight, I’m going to go with the new series, The Big C, at 10:30/9:30c on Showtime. This series is already creating incredible buzz, and it stars the lovely Laura Linney (John Adams) as Cathy Jamison. The series also stars Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) as a smart mouthed student who Cathy (Linney) decides to take an interest in.
Cathy has always been the straight laced, perfect wife and mother, that is until she gets a diagnosis of terminal cancer. That is just the kick in the ass she needs to start living life and letting “her freak flag fly”.
On tonight’s episode after Cathy is diagnosed with cancer, she decides to build a pool in her backyard which annoys her neighbour. She deals with her spoiled son, and her husband is trying to win back her affections. Cathy attempts to reconnect with her homeless brother and tries to make a weight loss plan for her student Andrea (Gabourey Sidibe).
I’m excited to see where this new series takes us because let’s be honest there’s nothing funny about cancer, but I believe this series is going to make the dealing with it amusing and heartwarming. We all have to ask ourselves what would you do if it was you? The Big C will give us one perspective on that question starting tonight at 10:30/9:30c on Showtime. Don’t miss it.
