Tonight is the series premiere of Auction Kings on the Discovery Channel at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. From 19th century vampire hunting kits to softball-sized meteorites to jewel encrusted gold pencils, this new show reveals to viewers a rare look at timeless items that take the audience back to historical moments, while giving them insight to the long-standing tradition of auctioning. The show captures the emotional journey of discovering one-of-a-kind riches – or disappointing rags. Auction Kings showcases one of the country’s most storied auction houses, Gallery 63. Paul Brown is the owner. He grew up in Atlanta and worked for 20 years at Red Baron’s, his dad’s antique store and auction house, learning the art of selling and how to tell trash from treasure. Today, Gallery 63 is known for bizarre, high-end items. Paul has made a name for himself as the go-to guy for bidders looking for those one-of-a-kind pieces that can only be found inside his doors.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Dance Cam Slam on VH1 at 10/9c. Individual dancers and groups compete live via their home web cam for a chance to win a weekly prize of $5,000. Hosted by Marianela, each half-hour episode will consist of three rounds. In the first two rounds contestants dance simultaneously to the same pop song on their home web cams. Our judges score the performances and declare a winner. The third and final round pits the winners from the night’s first two rounds against last week’s champion. Contestants will all appear in individual windows on a giant video screen in our Los Angeles studio. Judges score the dancers based on the overall entertainment value of their performance on a scale of one to ten and the best combined score moves on.

To help choose their Nancy and mentor the hopeful aspiring Olivers, Norton and Weber are joined by Torchwood star John Barrowman, Broadway and West End leading lady Denise Van Outen, producer Cameron Mackintosh and, for the first time, actor and star of musical theatre Barry Humphries, who has appeared in several productions of Oliver! both in the West End and on Broadway.

The series follows Joe Maddalena, owner of Profiles in History and the world’s largest auctioneer of original movie, television and pop culture collectibles. Each episode follows Joe and his crew as they travel the globe searching for the most compelling, rare, and sought-after Hollywood memorabilia. Sometimes combing through basements and attics to uncover lost Hollywood treasure, and other times meeting with celebrities to view their personal keepsakes, Joe tracks leads and does whatever it takes to seal the deal for a piece of Hollywood history. From the Wicked Witch of the West hat to the vintage Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car to the original Mary Poppins carpet bag, Maddalena will stop at nothing to hunt down some of Hollywood’s most legendary and mythical items. Episodes culminate with Joe presiding over a world-class auction, where all of the collectibles are sold to fans and collectors from around the world.
