If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/26/10

Tonight is filled with a few great Halloween specials, and one is so great that two of us are going to suggest it. That just means we REALLY, REALLY think you should be watching it, so tune in!

Megan’s Choice

When Lisa beat me to the choice of Glee this week, I admit to being slightly perturbed. But Jenny, in all her infinite wisdom, talked me down from my ledge and we decided it was such a big episode we could share it. I’m a middle child, I don’t share well because I always feel like I got less than the others… sorry. 😉 So that’s my suggestion for tonight, the Glee, Rocky Horror episode.

I am so incredibly excited for this episode because I love both Glee and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The kids perform their version of Rocky Horror, after Will learns that Emma’s a big fan of the 1975 cult-classic movie. Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick are going to guest star in the episode. Who doesn’t love a good Time Warp? This is going to be an EPIC night. Tune into FOX at 8/7c and feel free to dance along… you know you want to. Glee @ Clicker

Adam’s Choice

My pick tonight is a show you might not be watching. I say that because the ratings have been not-so-hot. I’m talking about ABC’s Detroit 1-8-7.
Now I know we are already bombarded by police-dramas. But I feel like this is different. It reminds me of Southland’s grittiness. Michael Imperioli’s “Det. Louis Fitch” is one reason alone to tune-in. If you haven’t seen the pilot episode, Youtube the interrogation scene with Fitch. You’ll see what I’m talking about.

On tonight’s episode, Fitch, Washington, Stone, and Sanchez are enraged when a young woman is shot multiple times in her SUV, leaving her child in the back seat; a college janitor is found with drugs in his system, and it appears to be the “perfect crime.”

Folks, please watch this. If this show gets the can, I’m going to go Mo-Town on you all. First I have to figure out what going all Mo-Town means. I’ll keep you posted. Don’t miss the new episode on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. (Just an FYI: After Adam wrote this, Detroit 1-8-7 was picked up for additional episodes. Keep your fingers crossed a full season pick up is not far behind!) Detroit 1-8-7 @ Clicker

Lisa’s Choice

It’s just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right!  Let’s all do the time warp and check out this all new amazing episode of the hit show Glee that’s entitled “The Rocky Horror Glee Show.”  After Will learns of Emma’s love affair for the movie classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Glee club tackles this cult classic for their school’s annual musical. You may not be a fan of Glee, but if you’re a fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you’re going to be glued to your screen.

Finn and Rachel reenact the iconic roles of Janet and Bad (originated by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick) while newcomer Chord Overstreet dons the ever beloved golden shorts. Speaking of Bostwick, he even makes a cameo in tonights episode as does singer Meat Loaf who was also in the original film!  So damn it Janet, get in the spirit of things and sing along and dance to the catchy and beloved tunes of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in full Glee theatricality tonight at 8/7C on FOX. Jenny’s Choice

My choice for you tonight is doubled, because there are 2 brand new episodes of one of my favorite new comedies! Raising Hope is so wrong, it’s right! On tonight’s first episode, Sabrina finds out that her boyfriend can’t make it to a popular Halloween party, so Jimmy offers to put on his costume and go in his place; Virginia takes Maw Maw, who is dressed like a cat, trick-or-treating; Burt plots ways to play tricks on Jimmy. I REALLY hope Sabrina doesn’t end up embarassing or hurting Jimmy when he shows up looking like a… Well, check out the picture. This episode airs on FOX at 9:01/8:01c.

On tonight’s 2nd new episode of Raising Hope, a box containing videos of Hope’s mother arrives from prison, and Jimmy is faced with deciding whether or not to let Hope see them; Virginia’s advice leads Jimmy to question what exactly his parents have been keeping from him. Family secrets are always fun, and the the secrets this family must have are most likely off the wall, funny, and frankly, a little frightening! Don’t miss this episode on FOX at 9:30/8:30c. Actually, Detroit 187 was picked up for “additional episodes”, Not a full-season order yet like NoF and Better with You. Still great news though!

And to stir the pot a bit, tonight’s Glee looks like it’s going to be a train-wreck. That’s right, I said it 😉

  2. Jenny says:

Doh, you can tell I was tired last night when I added that, cause I DO know that. haha

    And *gasp* You’re insane! 😉

Glad to see you recognizing Clicker.com– great service that’s been on my “cut the cable cord” checklist

  5. Megan says:

Check out my TV News today where I officially announce that Adam is no longer welcome on TV Is My Pacifier. First You insult my Alex O’Loughlin, now you’re taking on Glee. There were others who insulted Glee in my presence but we won’t talk about where they are now… perhaps I should take care of those skeletons before I move…. 😉

  6. Adam Wright says:

For the record, I was right about tonight’s episode….trainwreck! lol

  7. Megan says:

It was not a trainwreck.. at all. Mercedes looked amazing, and it had some great character driven moments, plus HELLO John Stamos sang, that in itself is awesome.
