It’s the start of another week, and whether you are looking forward to the week or not, if you’re a TV fan, you have to be excited for the start of a new week of shows. I know I am! Some of my favorites are on this week, including the return of Burn Notice (my favorite show!) on Thursday, so this is an especially good week (although having the CMA Awards on Wednesday means no comedies on ABC!).
Joining us this week to get a guy’s perspective is Jethro from Zap2It. He’s always got great things to say over there, so we’re excited to have him with us this week. You can catch him there or on his Twitter (@TheRealJethro), and this week, you can read what he thinks you should watch each night. Now, on to our recommendations!
I’m Jethro Nededog (@TheRealJethro), a writer/reporter at Zap2It. I’m really honored to have been asked to join TVIsMyPacifier.com’s team for the “If We Controlled Your Remote” daily feature for the upcoming week! A little insight into to me: I’m fairly new to the TV blogging game. Before joining Zap2it fulltime, I wrote for the LATimes.com Show Tracker and I was a TV feature writer for Metromix.com. Up until a year ago, I professionally blogged alongside my “day job” as a fulltime writer/producer for nonfiction TV. My work can be seen on E!, The TV Guide Channel, History, Discovery and the National Geographic Channel. While my TV taste has a wide range, expect me to suggest a lot of “guilty pleasures” and “sudsy scripted drama.”
While I’ll also be watching two great addictions for me, Showtime’s Dexter and Bravo’s near-perfect series of their popular franchise, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, my heart goes to ABC’s Brothers & Sisters tonight.
Jump with us to see why I chose Brothers & Sisters and to see what everyone else recommends.
While I’ll be the first to admit that the Season 5 premiere was a hot mess after the one-year time jump, the series has bounced back. As of late, they did a wonderful job of writing out Rebecca, but they’re doing some risky things with Kevin and Scotty’s relationship now.
In tonight’s episode, cupid seems to working overtime. Dave Annable’s real life fiancé, Odette Yustman, makes a guest appearance, and her character takes Justin’s mind off Rebecca. Nora finds a new love interest in a colleague at the station where she’s hosting her new radio show. And, can Kevin and Scotty learn something about love from Sarah’s tween-aged daughter, Paige?
I’m going with a repeat for my pick from last Sunday, and choosing The Walking Dead on AMC. I really enjoyed last week’s episode, even though I’m not really fond of the storyline regarding Rick’s wife and partner. Hopefully, the zombie stuff will keep my interest so I don’t have to focus on that part of it! I loved last week especially when Rick turned the corner and ran into the humongous group of zombies in the city. Oops! Obviously he gets away from them, but they left off with him basically trapped last week. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see a zombie horse. 😉
On tonight’s episode, when Rick inadvertently causes a group of survivors to get trapped by walkers, tensions are heightened within the group, and accusations escalate into violent attacks. Rick finds himself confronting a dangerous new enemy. Don’t miss the new episode tonight on AMC at 10/9c! Learn where to find episodes online of The Walking Dead @ Clicker.
This season of Desperate Housewives has had some fabulous story arcs, including Susan (Teri Hatcher) with her “Va-Va-Va Broom” job. I don’t know about you, but I hate cleaning in general, add to that cleaning in my lingerie… yeah, so not going there. 😉
On tonight’s episode, Renee has a job offer for Lynette, while Susan reluctantly accepts Lynette’s offer to be Paige’s nanny. Bree is hesitant to tell Keith (Brian Austin Green) she’s beginning menopause. Bob starts a friendship with Carlos, and Beth begins to suspect Paul’s motives. It’s all going to blow up in their faces eventually, and I love watching the pressure build. Tune into ABC at 9/8c and watch the drama. If for no other reason than it makes us all feel better about our lives. 🙂 Learn where to find episodes online of Desperate Housewives @ Clicker.
When Marge is worried about the effects of violent video games she decides to encourage Bart and Millhouse to play board games. Lisa falls smitten to a new student in class, who it turns out is of the vampire persuasion. While on a second honeymoon, Homer and Marge rescue a castaway who has escaped from his ship. Watch the animation domination begin on FOX tonight at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Simpsons @ Clicker.
