If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/23/11

It’s another week of new television, and there is a lot to watch. As always you can trust us beautiful, smart and charming women (& Mark! 😉 ) to tell you what you should be watching. 🙂 And everyone welcome back Mark, (@theanticritic), who is going to help us out! So let’s get started!

Mark’s Choice

Hello, TV Pacifiers! It’s your boy again, Mark O. Estes of TVOvermind, giving you the best of the best for the week. With most of my favorite CW shows returning after a somewhat long haitus, you might be bombarded with a lot of teen dramas this week. But rest assured, I will try my damndest to not send you down that route. I’ll try to throw in some adult fare, as well.

Like tonight’s pick, which will have to go hands down to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, because Desperate Housewives is on hiatus until February. After the latest explosive battle between frenemies NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak erupted last Sunday, it’s imperative to see how the fight will continue. Tonight’s airing will be the penultimate episode of the season, which means emotions will be on high as Cynthia preps for her wedding and the Battle Between Personalities continues to rage on. If you’ve never experienced a NeNe/Kim fight, then you are in for a bonafide treat!

Megan’s Choice

It’s a special night tonight, because Hawaii Five-0 is going to air a new episode on a special night. There’s no secret that I love this show, and of course, Alex O’Loughlin. I think you should be watching this show because it is one of those great shows that keeps you amused from beginning to end. There are emotional parts, comedic parts and action as well.

On tonight’s episode, the head of the Tsunami Warning Center mysteriously disappears just as a major tsunami threatens to strike Hawaii and thousands of people are evacuated from the islands.

To see how the Five-0 team saves the day tune into CBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hawaii Five-0 @ Clicker.

Lisa’s Choice

Every episode has a new intro as the family scrambles to the couch, your favorite characters never get old, and there is always something to laugh or even chuckle about when you watch The Simpsons. You know the words to the theme song and there is at least one character that you probably could quote every single line from. Even when there are reruns on, it’s more than likely one of your favorite episodes. The Simpsons is a TV classic that just never goes out of style.

Tune in to a new episode tonight, where Homer becomes obsessed with a 1980s family sitcom and decides to start acting like the show’s father. Check out voice cameos in the episode from James Lipton and David Mamet!

Jenny’s Choice

Since Megan already covered Hawaii Five-0 and Desperate Housewives isn’t on tonight, my selection of shows I’m watching tonight is drastically reduced. So… my recommendation tonight is Worst Cooks in America. I love this show, because it makes me wonder who people can be so damned awful at following a recipe! I’m no gourmet chef (far from it, in fact), but I can damn sure follow a recipe! The thing that cracks me up the most is like when, during one episode, the directions are to prepare the dish EXACTLY like the chef did it–and the dude STILL puts his own spin on things. Dude, the challenge was to replicate the dish. Oi! lol No wonder he went home! Dumbass. 😉

On tonight’s episode, the opposite of that is true. The recruits must be creative in the Skill Drill, as they try to grill a burger with their own unique flavor, and the winner will will get to trade a team member. The chef’s challenge requires the recruits to prepare an elegant meal for two.

Don’t miss all the hilarity of watching many imcompetent people trying to cook tonight on the Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Worst Cooks in America @ Clicker.
