If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/31/11

Can you believe it’s the last day of January already? These past few months have been flying by! It’s a great week of new television, so let’s see what us girls (and Jethro 😉 ) think you should be watching.

Megan’s Choice

My suggestion tonight is the new drama, Harry’s Law, starring the fabulous Kathy Bates. If you haven’t had a chance to watch this show yet, you are seriously missing out. Bates is amazing in her role as a probate lawyer turned defense attorney. She has taken on cases that no one thought she could win, but she did. She stands up for people who can’t stand up for themselves and I love it.

On tonight’s episode, Harry defends an inmate, whom she believes is unjustly imprisoned for a murder he didn’t commit. Adam risks disbarment for questionable conduct in the Laundromat case.

Tune into NBC at 10/9c to check out this new dramedy. You won’t be sorry, I promise. 🙂 Learn where to find episodes online of Harry’s Law @ Clicker.

I’m picking two things tonight, because honestly, I’m not sure I could tell you which I’d rather watch. Both are dramas with some intensely funny stuff, and both have hit their strides.

My first choice tonight is Chuck on NBC. With the Intersect firmly back in place in Chuck’s head, he’s kicking ass with the best of them. He and Sarah are a great couple. Ellie and Awesome are having a baby. Morgan is happy in his relationship with Casey’s daughter (and more importantly, Casey is ok with Morgan being in a relationship with his daughter! lol). Jeffster are still up to no good. All around, it’s just a fantastic season. Plus, we are getting a lot of Chuck & Ellie’s mother, played by the fabulous Linda Hamilton, and the creepiness of Alexei Volkoff, played masterfully by Timothy Dalton. What more can you say? It’s just been a great season so far!

On tonight’s episode, Sarah works to free Chuck’s mom while Chuck and Morgan embark on their own dangerous takedown mission. Casey spends some time bonding with his daughter. Ellie does what she can to relieve Awesome’s fears over becoming a father. Tonight may be the last episode for Volkoff, as Chuck and team work to take him down for the last time.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is like Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model combined with a gay twist. And it has really stepped up its game in Season 3.

In Monday’s (Jan. 31) episode, the queens are launching into outer cray when they’re challenged with shooting sci-fi movie trailers. Just wait until you get a load of the out of this world costumes they’ve dreamed up. Plus, this week’s guest judges are the iconic actress and comedienne Lily Tomlin and Caprica’s Alessandra Torresani.

Secrets continue to fester as this season refuses to quit turning up the heat on all of the Pretty Little Liars!

Tonight, “A” raises the stakes to a scorcher when he/she tries to turn one liar against another. Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer try to resume a bit of normalcy in their lives, but even the simple things like dating or after school activities seem to have an ill effect on the Liars. Emily deals with a jealous teammate (guest star Lindsey Shaw) who seems to be threatened by Emily’s skills in the swimming pool. Aria and Ezra try to plan their first date out in the open, while Hanna is stuck playing into “A’s” game. Unfortunately, the challenge in the game Hanna is playing, may lead to complications for one of the other Liars. Spencer turns to Alison’s brother, Jason, for information about the night that they believe Alison was killed, only to have to face part of her unpleasant past with Alison.

“A” is pulling all of the strings and holding all of the cards. Can the ladies weather the storm and lie their way out of it all without having to fess up to, or face, their ugly truths?

The other show tonight that I just can’t miss is Human Target on FOX. This has been one of my favorites since the beginning. I’ve loved Mark Valley for years (Keen Eddie, anyone??). The guys (Valley, along with Chi McBride from Pushing Daisies, and Jackie Earl Haley) are strong by themselves. But the addition this season of Indira Varma (Luther, Rome) as Ilsa Pucci and relative newbie Janet Montgomery (Entourage) have made the great cast even better. It’s nice to get the female side of things from them, and to see the guys and their reactions.

On tonight’s episode, Chance and the team are hired to protect a man who believes his wife is a Russian spy who is out to kill him over classified defensive secrets. Ames has a secret of her own that she is trying to keep Chance from finding out.
