If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/18/11

Sorry this is up so late today. I absolutely crashed last night before I had a chance to write this up, then I woke up right before lunch, so I’m just now getting to it. Late or not, there’s lots of great TV on tonight–so much that Megan and I both are recommending multiple shows! So check out what we all think you should watch!

Last week was the first episode of Chuck in a couple of weeks, and ratings were down. Did you forget to watch? It was a big episode, what with the Volkoff father & daughter returning. C’mon, people! This is a great show with an even more fantastic a cast. It needs our support! Tonight’s episode promises to be huge, too, as Gary Cole returns as Sarah’s father, and Clare Carey (who you might recognize from Jericho) is back as Alex’s mother.

On tonight’s episode, Chuck and Sarah find that they have been conned out of their wedding money, and the only man they feel they can turn to is Sarah’s conman father. Morgan lays the pressure on Casey, trying to make him face the mother of his daughter.

Don’t miss it tonight on NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Chuck @ Clicker.

Mondays are becoming a favorite night of television for me for many reasons, so today I’m going to cheat and give you two suggestions… because I can. ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t choose, so I’ve decided I don’t have to.

My first choice for you tonight is Make It or Break It. I’m aware that most of you probably believe it’s just another teen show, and while it does have teenagers, it’s not ‘just’ another teen show. The world of competitive gymnastics makes a great setting for drama, but add into that the emotions, the hormones and the unpredictable nature of teenage girls and you have a very entertaining show. I won’t lie, I find the show addicting and the cast is adorable. There’s also the slight nostalgic love I feel for Candace Cameron Bure from her days on Full House.

On tonight’s episode, Darby’s relaxed approach to coaching is putting the girl’s future at risk. Meanwhile, Kaylie leans on Damon for support, making us wonder what Emily will think when she finds out her boyfriend is getting closer to Kaylie.

Tune in to ABC Family at 9/8c to see how the drama unfolds. Learn where to find episodes online of Make It or Break It @ Clicker.

You may do a double take when you’re watching TV tonight. Cougar Town is normally shown on Wednesday nights, but for tonight only, it’s making a guest appearance in your Monday night lineup with an all new episode. Have you missed this merry bunch of neighborhood friends like we have? Wednesday night just hasn’t been the same without the shrill barking of Ellie, the off kilter chatter of Laurie, and the obsessive nagging of Jules? These ladies sure know how to bring the funny! Not to be beaten out by their male counterparts, too, with dim witted Bobby, whipped Grayson, and befuddled Andy. You know you just want to be a part of this mix of misfits!

Tonight, when Jules starts meddling in Travis’ life, Ellie is the voice of reason, telling her to back off. Bobby and Laurie decide that it’s time to spread the word about Penny Can and take it world wide. Meanwhile, Grayson learns a lot about friendship from Andy.

Watch ABC at 9:30/8:30c for all of the laughs! Learn where to find episodes online of Cougar Town @ Clicker.

My second pick tonight is the new comedy, Mad Love, on CBS. This show quickly became a favorite of both mine and my husband’s. We love the entire cast (Really, Sarah Chalke could do no wrong, and Jason Biggs’ Ben is just too sweet), but Tyler Labine and Judy Greer absolutely steal the show, especially when they are on screen together. The show is funny, sweet, and just great to watch. I wanted to recommend it tonight because I want it to have every shot at renewal that it possibly can!

On tonight’s episode, Ben and Larry are forced to jump through hoops for an obnoxious client before he gives them his busienss, but Larry ends up risking the account and his friendship with Ben when he decides to participate in the bar’s annual Pub Quiz instead.

See if Larry can squeak by again tonight on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Mad Love @ Clicker.

My second choice is Hawaii Five-0, starring my boyfriend (my husband approves) Alex O’Loughlin. I don’t care how many crime dramas there are on television, this one is a must see. There’s something about the awesome chemistry the cast has, and the very interesting storylines that keep us guessing until the end, that just make me tune in week after week. Of course, the attractive cast doesn’t hurt, either. ๐Ÿ™‚

On tonight’s episode, a crime lord moves against the family of an undercover New York City police detective (Sean Combs) who infiltrated his organization, and only Five-0 can stop the furious detective from getting the revenge he so desperately wants from the man.

Tune into CBS at 10/9c to see if my boyfriend can save the day. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Learn where to find episodes online of Hawaii Five-0 @ Clicker.

Yes, I’m giving you 3 tonight. I can’t help it, honestly. Another of my favorite new comedies is on tonight, and one I also want to have as many viewers as possible. If you were a fan of King of Queens, Gilmore Girls, or Samantha Who?, you probably remember Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy. Along with Reno Wilson, Katy Mixon, and Swoosie Kurtz (who was in the fabulous Sisters and Pushing Daisies) star in this delightful comedy, Mike & Molly, also on CBS. The show is about 2 overweight people who meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting and begin dating, falling in love quickly. The show is cute and quirky, and makes me laugh a lot. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you really should give it a shot!

On tonight’s episode, Samuel falls on hard time when he has to deal with the fact that he’s been fired from his job and will probably end up losing his apartment in the aftermath. Mike decides to extend an olive branch by asking Samuel to move in with him.

Don’t miss it (please!) tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Mike & Molly @ Clicker.
