Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of Single Ladies on VH1 at 9/8c. The show is a romantic comedy series that asks the question: What do women really want in a relationship? Single Ladies is a modern and sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion and music surrounding three best friends, Val (Stacey Dash), Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy), and April (Charity Shea) who all have different philosophies on sex and relationships. The series introduces Christina (Kassandra Clementi) a free-spirited, wild child intern at Val’s boutique.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Platinum Hit on Bravo at 10/9c. Hosted by Jewel, with head judge Kara DioGuardi, this is the network’s new music competition series. Twelve aspiring songwriters battle through a series of innovative challenges testing their creativity, patience and drive as this unique creative process is unveiled for the first time. To find out if they have what it takes, Keith Naftaly, SVP of A&R for RCA/Jive Label Group at Sony Music Entertainment, will be featured throughout the series to help judge the competition, and some of the most influential musicians will serve as guest judges, including Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield, Donna Summer, Jermaine Dupri, Taio Cruz, Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart.

The third, and last, series premiere tonight is Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. In a unique, non-competitive show about weight loss – unlike anything seen before on television – the show will document the amazing makeover of eight courageous, “super obese” people. Shot over an unprecedented 365 days, the participants set out to safely lose half of their body weight, ultimately revealing an amazing metamorphosis. The term “super obese” defines those who exceed their estimated ideal weight by approximately 225 percent, and who are roughly 200 pounds or more overweight. Trainer and transformation specialist Chris Powell (The 640-Pound Virgin) will guide each of eight participants through their transformation process by moving into their homes with their families or loved ones. By assuring that they have the proper nourishment and exercise movement, Chris will provide a fresh perspective to individuals whose lives have become unmanageable because of their weight. In each of the eight one-hour episodes, the participants undergo a transformation, not only of their bodies, but of who they are as individuals. Each stand-alone episode of the series will chronicle one participant’s journey to reclaim his or her life.

Tonight is the series premiere of Franklin & Bash on TNT at 9/8c. When they’re not hanging out at their favorite hot dog stand pontificating on what they’d go through to enjoy a night with their favorite female celebrities, Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Peter Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) are chasing down their latest clients…sometimes literally. With business cards in hand, they’re ready to nab a client within seconds after a car accident, arrest for solicitation or any other incident where their legal services may be needed. Once in the courtroom, they show their flair for the dramatic and the shocking. Peter has a knack for connecting with jury and judge, while Jared loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets. Despite their bad-boy antics, brash presentation and devil-may-care attitudes, Jared and Peter are good lawyers who are willing to do anything for a client, no matter who the client might be. That quality catches the attention of Stanton Infeld (Malcolm McDowell), a Renaissance man and the patriarch of Infeld Daniels, one of the top law firms in Los Angeles. He sees a lot of himself in the young men and decides to recruit the pair to bring a fresh energy to the firm. Jared and Peter are joined by their two legal aides, the brilliant, brassy Carmen (Dana Davis) and the agoraphobic, verminophobic Pindar (Kumail Nanjiani). Infeld’s decision to take on fresh talent doesn’t sit well with his nephew, Damien Karp (Reed Diamond), a lawyer who has his own plans for the firm and a particularly shifty way of doing business. The arrival of Jared and Peter also threatens Karp’s romantic – albeit celibate – relationship with Hanna Linden (Garcelle Beauvais), a lawyer who takes an immediate liking to Jared. In their new digs at Infeld Daniels, Jared and Peter handle a variety of clients, from a woman fired for being too beautiful to a family feud over a cherished baseball. But their story is really about the incredible friendship they’ve built and how their relationship is challenged now that they find themselves working in a more corporate atmosphere. Only time will tell if these devoted buddies can survive in this new environment.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Haunted Collector on Syfy at 9/8c. Ghosts and spirits inhabit more than just homes and buildings – they can also possess objects. In this new Syfy reality series, a family of paranormal investigators hunt down haunted items bedeviling their owners. For more than 30 years, eminent paranormal researcher John Zaffis has been a collector. But not of stamps, coins or comic books. He collects objects that have become home to paranormal spirits and/or energy. Each week he and his family help out someone who’s being terrorized by something in their own home. They research the history of objects found in the home and try to identify what is causing the problem.

The third series premiere tonight is Man v. Food Nation on Travel Channel at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. Adam Richman is now an expert, mentor, and cheerleader for those willing to step up to the plate and take on their local food challenges. As he samples the local flavor of every town he visits, he’ll look for fans to walk in his shoes and brave the spiciest, cheesiest and tastiest specialties their neighborhoods have to offer.

Also tonight, it’s the series premiere tonight is Sand Masters on Travel Channel at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. An incredible team of six artists travel across the globe to create unimaginable, massive masterpieces made from sand. They build colossal works of art from sand, while battling seemingly insurmountable challenges—unpredictable weather, wildly ambitious designs and overly demanding clients.

The final series premiere tonight is The World According to Paris on Oxygen at 10/9c. This docu-series follows Paris Hilton and the people in her life through ups and downs, loves gained and lost, marriages, kids, divorce, and more. Behind the Hollywood glamour, red carpets, photo shoots, and fabulous parties stands a strong woman who’s determined to make a new life for herself. The show offers a revealing look at how Paris handles consequences of past decisions and her management of her successful fashion and style empire.

Tonight is the series premiere of The First 48: Missing Persons on A&E at 10/9c. When a person goes missing, every second counts. A&E’s new real life series, a spinoff from one of the most-watched nonfiction investigative series on cable, The First 48, follows the Chicago Police Department’s missing persons unit in the first 48 hours of their search for missing loved ones. Based in the heart of one of the country’s most colorful law-enforcement cities, the Chicago Police missing persons unit gets more than 17,000 calls each year and is the one of the only major police departments in the country that responds to every missing persons call immediately. For the first time ever, the Chicago Police Department gives unrestricted access to ongoing investigations and allows cameras to follow the elite, passionate and dedicated investigators who handle all missing persons and child abduction cases. Each hour-long episode follows the specialized investigation of one or two high-stakes cases, from the moment the call comes in, as detectives search for the husbands, wives, sons and daughters who have disappeared. Just like a homicide on the original series, if they don’t find the missing person in the first 48 hours, their chances of finding them alive are cut in half.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Love Bites on NBC at 10/9c. The show is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each episode contains multiple vignettes, all illuminating the theme of love with an edgy, irreverent spin. Becki Newton (Ugly Betty) stars as Annie and Jordana Spiro (My Boys) stars as Frannie, the last two single girls standing after all of their friends get married. Annie is an infectiously bubbly optimist and Frannie is an always-a-bridesmaid realist. Their story will anchor the series, while other romantically-challenged characters will come and go each week. The pilot’s guest cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer), Greg Grunberg (Heroes), Craig Robinson (The Office), Jason Lewis (Sex and the City), Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle), Larry Wilmore (The Daily Show), Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up), Pamela Adlon (Californication), Stacy Galina (Hidden Hills), Brian Hallisay (Privileged), Kyle Howard (My Boys) and Steve Howey (Bride Wars).

The last series premiere is NY Ink on TLC at 10/9c. Tattoo artist Ami James leaves the warm sunny shores of Miami for the cold hard concrete and steel of New York City. The series follows Ami as he opens a shop, risking his reputation and finances on a huge new space, while recruiting an elite staff of artists whose personalities are as big as their tattoo skills.
