If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/10/11

Well, it’s the end of kind of a slow week. There were some great episodes on this week, although we ended pretty slow. Hopefully, next week will be a bit better. If it’s not, the week after will be, I know! 😀 As for tonight, there are a couple of things on worth watching, so check out what we think you should watch!

There isn’t much I can say about Flashpoint that I haven’t said many times before. I love the drama, the cast is fantastic, and the cases are great. David Paetkau’s Sam is so yummy, and I love the chemistry he and Jules have. Now that Jules and her boyfriend of … I guess a couple of months … have broken up, hopefully Sam and Jules can get back together. I have a feeling it won’t be right away, but hopefully it won’t be TOO far in the future.

On tonight’s episode, the SRU’s attempt to take down a crime boss backfires and the boss gets away, taking his girlfriend, who is the SRU’s criminal informant, with him.

Today, I’m going to go with a show that is a little out of my usual recommendations. I think you should be watching My Babysitter’s a Vampire, a new show on Disney Channel. It’s a show about vampires and scary movies that takes a humourous approach. It tells the story of three teens who believe their new babysitter is a real vampire and it’s their job to get rid of her.

Tune in to Disney Channel tonight at 7/6c to see if this new show directed at tweens works for your kids. They don’t have it on there yet, but for now, learn where to find episodes online of Disney Channel shows @ Clicker.

Right now, I’d normally go with the final season of Friday Night Lights as my top pick on Friday nights, but Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals is on NBC tonight. So, tonight’s pick is Flashpoint, which is a great drama in its own right. The cast is solid, including Amy Jo Johnson (Felicity) and Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars). My favorite thing about the show is that the characters and circumstances feel real. The team isn’t just a bunch of gun crazy cowboys out for an adrenaline rush. Yet, it still gives you plenty of action and tense situations.

Tonight, the team attempts to bring down a crime boss, but their plan goes sideways and he takes off with his girlfriend, who happens to be their informant.

Flashpoint plays tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Flashpoint @ Clicker.

I hardly ever turn on The Disney Channel anymore–may check out some of that movie/pilot just to see how different Disney handles vampires over MTV & The CW! But I will definitely watch Flashpoint as it’s one of my favorites!

Flashpoint is fabulous but I’ve already watched this whole season, it airs earlier in Canada. It’s a great season though 🙂
