If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/24/11

Well, thank goodness it’s Friday, but I want my Thursday back, darnit! About 3:00 on Thursday afternoon, our cable cut out, which took out not only our TV but our internet, as well. *cry* They’ve been cutting down a tree in back, and we can only guess that had something to do with it… lol My husband FINALLY was able to get ahold of someone after 5:30, but the earliest they could come out was Friday between 4:00 & 9:00. Ugh. Thankfully, nearly everything from Thursday night TV will repeat! I’d already seen the Rookie Blue premiere, so Scott missed it, and we both missed the new show on ABC. Aside from the results show on FOX, it’s all good. Hopefully they will have it fixed as soon as possible, although since I only have 1 thing on tonight that I’m watching… eh. Right now, I’m piggy-backed on to someone’s WiFi. Shhh! Since I’m only using it to get this and the Friday schedule posted, I figure they won’t mind! Anyway, enough about me. On to what everyone else thinks you should watch! – Jenny

It’s a slow night, so while I don’t usually suggest reality type television, I’m going to go with Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss on TLC. There’s something to be said for the drama that wedding dress shopping brings, but add being plus-sized to that, and it’s a traumatic roller coaster. The people that work at Kleinfeld are fabulous at helping the girls find the dress of their dreams and dealing with the crazy family.

On tonight’s episode, Zaneta wants a sexy dress that shows off her curves; Alyse, who’s always felt overshadowed by her younger sister, searches for her wedding gown; Rheagan’s dress fitting is bittersweet.

Tune in to TLC at 9/8c and see if you can handle the wedding dress drama. Learn where to find episodes online of Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll be watching the second season finale of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. While the show is still entertaining in most respects, this second season has failed to capture the magic of the original. I think my frustration comes from the fact that Jamie has not been able to actually cook inside the school and implement changes. They won’t even let him look into the window of the school cafeteria! I wish after episode one of this season, Jamie had just packed up and found a different district that was more willing to accept his help, so that we could actually see him making a difference!

In tonight’s episode, “A New Start, A New Chance,” a meeting with the district’s incoming superintendent gives Jamie hope; Jamie puts together a cooking competition for high school students.

See what could be the series finale (it hasn’t been canceled or renewed yet) tonight on ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution @ Clicker.
