If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/1/11

Ahhh, Monday. It’s a day a lot of people despise, because they have to go back to work. Me? Eh. My husband & I work from home, so that’s not a true issue, and though yeah, I enjoy the weekend, Monday for me just means some fantastic new TV. It’s also the 1st of August, which means in 15 days, my kid goes off to school for the day, so that’s a good thing. *laugh* Anyway, there’s lots of great TV on tonight to help you poor folks who have a rough day, so let’s see what we all think you should be watching, ok?

Since Kyle picked Eureka for tonight, I’ll just say I agree with his thoughts. The show is one of my favorites and you should be watching. My first pick tonight, though, is Warehouse 13, another Syfy hit series. I am LOVING the addition of Steve Jinks to the team. I love that Claudia is finally getting to do more and more outside the office, and pairing her up with Steve has been fanastic. They work well together, because he can temper some of her excitement and enthusiasm, while she possesses the knowledge about all things Warehouse that he doesn’t yet, simply because of experience. It was a lot of fun last week since Steve together with Myka and Pete, too. I rarely, if ever, find anything negative to say about this show. It is just that great.

On tonight’s episode, Pete’s ex-wife (played by Jeri Ryan, Body of Proof, Boston Public, Star Trek: Voyager) arrives in South Dakota to get married, but an artifact threatens to ruin her wedding before it starts. Steve and Claudia find themselves dressed as soldiers and participating in a Civil War reenactment while searching for an artifact.

When I think of my Comic-Con interview with the cast of Teen Wolf, I still smile. There is so many great things I can say about not only this show, but also about the gorgeous and humble cast. One of the biggest reasons I think you should be watching this is for the devilish storylines, but the delicious cast is a definite bonus.

Last week’s episode started the ball rolling on solving all the mysteries, including the reveal of the Alpha. I’m not going to talk about who it is, in case you are still catching up. I’d hate to ruin the awesome twisted surprise. We also learned more about Allison’s family, and information about the fire at Derek’s family home. That’s why this show is also fantastic. We are getting the mysteries of this season solved before the finale!! (TV writers take note!)

On tonight’s episode, Scott continues to try to protect the ones he loves, including the beautiful Allison. Speaking of Allison, she is beginning to follow the bread crumbs to find out the truth about her family’s history. Meanwhile, Stiles is getting closer to solving the mystery behind Derek’s family.

Lisa has been doing Rizzoli & Isles for a while, but tonight, I am grabbing it for my second pick. I love it for not only the great cases (I’m a huge fan of police dramas), but also because the characters of Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are so damn entertaining. They are very different in terms of personality (actually, they remind me a lot of Bones and Booth on Bones, where Bones and Maura are very…literal, and Booth and Jane are a bit looser in their approach to things but both damn good at what they do.), but their friendship and partnership are so great and work on so many levels. The supporting cast is great, too. We’re seeing more of Jane’s brother Frankie, and a lot of their mother—but not their father at all, since her parents are getting a divorce. It just all works well. I’d love to see Jane’s FBI love interest, Gabriel Dean (played by Billy Burke), back. In the books, Jane and Gabriel fall in love and get married. Do I want the TV show to move that fast? No, not at all. But it would be nice to see both her and Maura in relationships that last more than an episode!

Tonight, the fear of a previous case is putting Jane and the rest of the department on edge since a pattern a child murders has given authorities reason to believe that a police officer’s kidnapped daughter has only a small amount of time left to live.

At the Comic-Con panel for Eureka, they showed us a sizzle reel for the upcoming season 4.5 episodes, and it looks like we’re in for a lot of fun! I really like the recent addition of Felicia Day to the cast. Her character of Dr. Holly Marten feels so natural and fits in well with the rest of the characters. The competition for spots in the Titan space mission is a great way for us to get to meet some of the other wacky characters in Eureka. I’m also enjoying the love triangle between scientists Marten, Parrish (played by Wil Wheaton) and Fargo. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.

In tonight’s episode, “Up in the Air,” Carter must solve a bank robbery before the town floats away; Allison struggles with episodes of lost time. Fargo ramps up his rivalry with Isaac Parrish after he discovers that Holly and Parrish once went on a date together.

The Closer is so addicting! From minute one when you watch this show, you are drawn into the characters and the storylines. The twists that are included in the storylines always blindside me when I watch. I’m so busy intensely watching Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Lee Johnson, who is so hypnotizing, that I’m missing what the other detectives are saying and what little details are showing up that will lead me to putting all together to find the killer. Every single moment that you watch this show, you have to pay attention to the large and small, because if you miss something, the twists will throw you for a loop! That’s what viewers love about the show, though. They love the twists, the little and the large details, the chemistry, the charm, the humor, the drama. They love every nonstop moment, and tonight is no different.

Tonight, the team searches for a missing boy, and Captain Raydor makes a suggestion to Brenda, all the while she continues to audit the Major Crimes Unit.
