I decided to do a little news post prompted by some aggravating news that broke earlier today. Let’s see what’s going on in the world of TV news.
I don’t want to be rude, because I actually love Syfy, but they aren’t playing by basic playground rules. You know, where you can’t take something back once you’ve given it? For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, let me fill you in. 🙂
Syfy gave Eureka a 6 episode pick up for a sixth season, and then took it back. Here’s a statement that Syfy gave earlier today:
“After a painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking it’s fifth season and six memorable years of Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen and will bring the great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy it’s final season in 2012.”
I’m happy that we still have another season to go, but sad that it ever has to end. 🙂 I’ll be especially sad when there are no more Eureka Comic-Con panels, because they are always hilarious and amazing! 🙂 Sound off below on how you feel about this news. Source

Connor Paolo, who played Eric Van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl, has confirmed that his character won’t be coming back to the show. It was already pretty obvious, when he signed on as a series regular on the new ABC drama, Revenge. He doesn’t believe in going back. “Only forward.” I have to agree with Paolo. While I enjoyed his character on Gossip Girl, I think Eric is done. Farewell, and good luck on the new show. Source
Is there anyone who can say that they don’t have at least one childhood memory that came from watching Sesame Street? I know that I have always loved that show, and am happy to still be able to share it with my children. The hit children’s show is starting it’s 42nd season on September 26, and it’s going to be a star studded season. There have been over 36 celebrities that have signed on to appear on the show including Nicole Kidman, Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Bruno Mars, Robin Williams, and Seth Rogen. I’m excited for all the stars, but also excited for the introduction of more science, math, and engineering. Admit it… How many of you will still tune in, even if you don’t have kids? Who was your favorite character? I’ve always had a soft spot for Snuffleupagus. Source
