Tonight is the series premiere of CMT Made on CMT at 10/9c. It’s never too late to chase after a dream, and CMT is giving adults the opportunity to do so. From the producers of the Emmy(R)-award winning MTV show, this eight-episode series follows adults, not teens, as they embark on a mission to transform their life, highlighting both the challenges and accomplishments they face throughout their journey of being MADE.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Ton of Cash on VH1 at 9/8c. Fourteen contestants who are in financial crisis will have a chance at winning big. Unlike any other competition reality series, the contestants receive their cash prize up front – literally, one ton of cash. The only catch is, if they want to keep it, the contestants will need to haul it from Los Angeles to Las Vegas over some of the most rugged and tortuous terrain on earth. Tensions run high at every checkpoint where there is always a possibility of losing cash if the team does not work together. With time and dynamic personalities working against the team, each contestant will need to go through a battle of wits and determination to prove he or she deserves to win the one million dollar prize. Ton of Cash shows you must be careful what you wish for and, if granted, you must be willing to carry its burden.

The last series premiere tonight is The Hour on BBC America at 10/9c. The show stars Dominic West (The Wire), Romola Garai (One Day, Emma) and Ben Whishaw (Bright Star, Brideshead Revisited) locked in a highly competitive, sharp witted and passionate love triangle. The series, set behind the scenes of the BBC’s newsroom in London in the mid ’50s, is an edge-of-your-seat spy thriller. It follows the lives of three characters as they set up a new weekly investigative news program, The Hour. The drama plots the personal lives, professional interplay and jealous ambition between aspiring but renegade journalist Freddie Lyon (Whishaw), the beautiful ambitious young producer Bel Rowley (Garai) with whom he is in love, and his handsome rival Hector Madden (West), the face and lead anchorman of this rising television news team. The Hour plays out as a riveting thriller set against the backdrop of the Cold War and Ian Fleming’s world of espionage.

Tonight is the series premiere of JUNKies on Science Channel at 10/9c. Long Island’s Freeport Junk and Wrecking is the setting for the new series JUNKies. This is the premiere junkyard for the subculture of high-end inventors, backyard builders and antique pickers constantly looking for missing parts to complete their passion projects. The Freeport team, led by Jimmy “The Junk Genius” Ruocco, will go to any lengths to construct new and inspired devices; with highlights including a hovercraft, a coffin car, a lawn mower racer and a flamethrower-all made from the finest discarded spare parts. These guys know the guts, bolts and science inside even the most unique machines. Crossing paths with a crazy cast of characters, they encounter everyone from inventors and students to mechanics and artists. This eclectic band of dumpster divers will redefine engineering.

Following that, it’s the series premiere of Stuck with Hackett on Science Channel at 10:30/9:30c. The show features “alternative engineer” and survival expert Chris Hackett. Each episode finds Hackett left alone in an extreme environment-from deep wilderness, to ruined cities, to arid deserts-with little more than his wits and ingenuity. The goal isn’t survival, however; it’s luxury … achieved by any means necessary. Through a series of video diaries, he explains how to turn junk into creature comforts, such as making a hot tub in a snowy terrain, fashioning an A/C unit from spare airplane parts and fermenting leaves to run a washing machine. Watch Hackett turn one man’s nightmare into his own personal retreat using common sense and a lot of spare parts.
