If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/21/11

What a damn long weekend it’s been, and it’s only Sunday morning! If you missed it, the site was hacked and my husband spent hours figuring out where they had put code in and how to get rid of it all. Thankfully, we’re hack free now! Plus, we got our carpets cleaned on Friday evening, so the latter days of last week were spent moving furniture, and then late Friday night and some on Saturday was spent moving it all back. We still have a bit to go, but not much. So… I’m ready for a break! Luckily, there’s some great TV on tonight we can relax to! 🙂

Last week’s episode of The Glades was good, as it always is. I wish there had been more personal stuff, because it was almost all about the case. We did get to see Jim and Callie FINALLY have it out about Jim’s “ex,” Callie’s marriage, and the possibility of the two of them starting over. They decided they wanted to try, and at the end of the episode, they decided to go eat dinner together. Jim even grabbed her hand for a minute as they walked. It was cute, and I’m hoping for more this week. I’d also like to see Jeff back, because he’s always a fun character. The previews I’ve seen for this ep look good, though, case-wise, so… I’ve got my fingers crossed!

On tonight’s episode, a body is found at a popular beachside bar with a large diamond ring in his pocket. Detective Jim Longworth sifts through the sands of the various characters at the bar, revealing a complicated love triange that may have ended in murder. Meanwhile, Callie has some news for Jim that will change everything.

Last week’s Breaking Bad was so amazing. When Mike took Jesse on his mystery road trip, I was constantly wondering, “What is going to happen to Jesse?” and “What is the purpose of this trip?” However, at the end, we discover that Gus staged a robbery so that Jesse could feel like a hero and get his head back in the game. Meanwhile, just when Hank is about to close the Heisenberg case, we see Walt’s pride take over. He is so upset that Gale is going to get the credit for his work, that he explains to Hank how Gale couldn’t have been responsible. It was great to see Skyler in shock watching this unfold. The writing on this show is brilliant! It’s like a roller coaster ride each week, and you never know what twists and turns are coming!

In tonight’s episode, “Cornered,” Skyler makes an unsettling discovery, Walter Jr. pushes his dad into a questionable purchase, and Jesse offers Mike some help.

On Drop Dead Diva, Jane may be in over her head when she asks Fred to take Grayson out for a guys night. Of course, she has the best of intentions—so that Grayson can get over being left at the alter—but she doesn’t want him moving on THAT quickly, and with someone less than her caliber. Obviously Jane/Deb’s feelings for Grayson run deep, but can Jane really be subjective about who Grayson dates? Speaking of dates, looks like Parker has moved on from Kim, and Deb’s mom, too! Love and romance are in the air on an all new Drop Dead Diva!

Tonight, Stacy begs Jane to represent her former sorority house mother, while Parker and Kim take on representing a botanist who has cultivated a very rare flower. Also, Jane asks Fred to take Grayson out for a guys night.

Last week, there were two episodes of Leverage, and I loved them both. The first featured Hardison and Parker again, which is always ok with me. They both damn near broke my heart when Hardison was kidnapped and buried alive in a coffin. His terror came through the screen and when he was talking to Parker? Geez, tissues, please! And Parker… dealing with emotions she’s never been used to feeling…it has her all discombobulated. She was scared for Hardison, but she talked him through it. I have to be honest, though… I was hoping for a REAL kiss either when they got him out of the coffin or at the end when he went to her at the bar. *sigh* lol Then the second episode was a lot lighter in tone. The team had a lot of fun conning a big con man, including Sophie pretending to be a chocolate connoisseur, Eliot leading the mark out into the wilds in a different country (and eating a snake right in front of him!), and having all the man’s victims come in and run the big con on him? Genius. I really loved it. This show is so great, and I get excited every week when it’s on.

Tonight, the inconvenience of waiting at the airport for a flight gives the team an opportunity to help a young girl in desperate need of a heart, when it’s discovered that a selfish defense contractor has stolen the organ for his own use. The previews look great, so I’m hoping the episode lives up to my expectations!

Tonight is the season finale of The Glee Project, and we will finally find out who will appear in a 7-episode arc on the upcoming season of Glee. Last week, no one was eliminated, so we are still down to the final four. First, there’s Alex, who is a diva in all senses of the word. I really don’t care for his personality, or his female-style of singing. Second is Samual, who doesn’t have much of a personality. Ryan Murphy seems obsessed with him ever since discovering he was Christian. I don’t understand why the actor would need to be Christian in order to write a Christian character! Then there’s Lindsay, who is arguably the strongest singer of the four. However, she seems very fake—even resorting to a fake breakdown to tears in the “Believability” episode. Also, I think she is too much like Rachel on the show, and I want to see someone new.

Finally, and the person who I hope wins, there is Damian, the Irish crooner of the group. He has the singing skills and a fun personality. He genuinely seems to be in this contest for the fun of it and not for fame and fortune. I liked the idea one of the writers mentioned in a previous episode, that they could have the character of Brittany always confused by his Irish accent. I’m looking forward to seeing who wins tonight. Though, I suspect a few of the other contestants will also end up appearing on Glee this season.

Holy crow! Last week’s episode of True Blood was intense. When we left the town of Bon Temp, we had a bunch of cliffhangers to worry about. Sookie had been shot and was being carried off into the night by the sexy Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Eric was now under the power of the possessed witch, and that isn’t a good. So much to see, so little time.

On tonight’s episode, Marnie begins plotting another strike against the vampires. Meanwhile, a recuperating Sookie mulls a world where Bill and Eric can coexist.
