If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/22/11

Another Monday closer to the end of the summer, and the last Monday I’ll spend in British Columbia. We’re almost all packed and headed east later this week. It’s going to be a long trip with two kids, especially with Pherson being so young, but I’m sure it’ll be an adventure. 🙂 Okay, enough about my life. Let’s look at what you should be watching tonight.

MasterChef came to an end last week, but we still have Hell’s Kitchen to fulfill our kitchen competition need. I am still waiting for that witch, Elise, to go home, and frankly, it can’t happen soon enough. She annoys me as much as nails on a chalkboard—maybe even more.

On tonight’s back to back episodes (airing as a 2 hour block), the red and blue teams face off against each other, and by the end of the double episode, 2 more chefs will have been eliminated.

Tune in to FOX at 8/7c to see if they give your least favorite contestant their walking papers. Learn where to find episodes online of Hell’s Kitchen @ Clicker.

Last week on Eureka, things were tense for Jo, Zane, Fargo, Holly, and Dr. Parrish, who were all locked in the tiny isolation room as a test for the Astreus mission, when suddenly, little robotic mites started going out of control and eating all the specific metal needed to build the spaceships for the mission. That left the ceiling of the isolation room falling in on the group locked in there, and because the mites ate the control room and blocked off access, no one was able to get to them. Finally, Allison, who had been benched by Senator Wen, convinced everyone that she could guide Carter to where the mites were. She was able to do that just in time, and before the ceiling could collapse, Carter set off a sonic blast that shut down all the mites, allowing the group to be rescued safely. Allison proved to Senator Wen (& everyone) that she is back at full capacity after having Beverly Barlow take over her body and mind, so she is now back as interim director of GD while Fargo is in the running for the mission. Whew! Lots happened, and it was a great ep, so hopefully this one will be, as well!

On tonight’s episode, the town is under threat of contamination after an explosion released poisonous gases into the atmosphere. Jo volunteers to help Henry and Grace plan their wedding. A relationship auditor arrives in Eureka to examine Carter & Allison. Wallace Shawn (Gossip Girl, The L Word, Crossing Jordan, The Princess Bride) guest stars.

Although Brenda Lee Johnson may be a proud woman, she knows when she’s been backed into a corner. With the investigation against her still going on, she knew it was time to give in to help from a highly paid attorney. Hopefully, her legal issues will subside very soon; that way, they can focus more on the cases, because that’s what is at the heart of The Closer – unique cases. Certainly this season has been a roller coaster, but at the heart of it, it’s the cases, and that needs to return.

Tonight, the squad helps out a fellow law enforcement officer by investigating the mysterious death of her daughter. Captain Raydor continues her audit of Brenda and the Major Crimes and specifically focuses her efforts on Detective Sanchez.

Kyle’s Choice

I always look forward to a new episode of Warehouse 13 on Mondays. While I wasn’t a fan of the 5th generation VHS, washed-out look of last week’s episode, it was still a great story, and it was great to see Fargo on the show again. Last week left us with a bunch of questions: Who does Sally really work for and what’s her agenda?! What’s up with that swarm of mechanical flies we saw spreading across the warehouse?! I can’t wait to find out the answers!

In tonight’s episode, “Past Imperfect,” after Myka encounters Leo, the man responsible for the death of her former partner in the CIA, she recruits her old team and engages in a manhunt for the elusive criminal, who escapes again with a device that allows him to freeze time. Artie gains a four-legged companion. Yancey Arias (Knight Rider, Thief) & J. August Richards (Angel) guest star.

I’ve really been enjoying The Protector, and since Kyle recommended Warehouse 13, I thought I’d pick this one as my second choice for tonight. I love this new drama on Lifetime, because it’s not your usual cop drama. Sure, it’s a procedural, but Gloria is not your average TV cop. Ally Walker was fabulous on shows like Sons of Anarchy and The Profiler, and I love her on this, as well. I love seeing Gloria interact with her brother Davey and her two sons, and I love seeing Tisha Campbell-Martin’s (My Wife and Kids) character, Gloria’s partner Michelle, navigate the world of being a single female cop in the dating scene. It’s a fun, light show and one my husband & I watch every week.

On tonight’s epsiode, when a young laboratory researcher is found dead, Gloria and Michelle’s investigation leads them into a crazy world of drug abuse and betrayal that may have caused her death. Nick catches Davey kissing Nora and decides to blackmail him with it.

Last episode of Rizzoli & Isles, we were introduced to Maura’s mother, played by Jacqueline Bisset, and before that was Jane’s incarcerated brother, played by Colin Egglesfield. This week, we’re being introduced to Frankie’s ex-girlfriend! Family has a big involvement on this show, and it shouldn’t be any other way. The family that fights crime together, stays together!

Jane and the team investigate what seems to be a modern day witch hunt in Salem, while Frankie’s old girlfriend returns to town with a big surprise for him. Also, Jane has a problem when it comes to speaking her mind about the situation.
