TV News – 10/10/11

Happy Monday and Thanksgiving for all my fellow Canadians. πŸ™‚ I hope everyone had a great weekend and you’re ready for a quick news update. Here’s a couple bits of TV news that are interesting, exciting, or annoying…

In the column for annoying, we have FOX bumping the awesome comedy, New Girl, until November 1st. In its place, we’ll have baseball on Tuesdays and extended installments of The X Factor on Wednesdays. I am really sad by this news, because too many weeks without New Girl is a terrible thing. Emma Caulfield (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will be joining the cast of Once Upon a Time. Caulfield will play the Blind Witch from Hansel and Gretel, appearing in the ninth episode of this first season. I loved Caulfield as Anya in Buffy and think playing a witch is only a step away from playing a demon. πŸ™‚ Source

In the category of news some people will find interesting, The Simpsons has been renewed for two more years. That means it’ll have been on the air for at least 25 years… Insane. Honestly, I’m not a fan of The Simpsons, and it’s been on the air almost as long as I’ve been alive, but that’s good news for all the fans. It was touch and go for a bit, but they pulled it out at the end. So Simpson fans rejoice! Source

Apartment 23 (AKA Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23) has landed two more hot TV stars to guest star. The show will be premiering midseason and already has James Van Der Beek, playing a comedic version of himself. They have now got Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark), tapped to play themselves. Sorbo will be appearing as a wedding date for Chloe (Krysten Ritter), and Cain will appear as Van Der Beek’s rival. I have seen the pilot already, and Van Der Beek is hilarious, so I cannot wait to see Sorbo and Cain in their comedic glory. Source

CBS has canceled How to Be a Gentleman, which isn’t surprising, as the show was not that funny. On a brighter note, 2 Broke Girls has been picked up for a full season. I love 2 Broke Girls. It’s hilarious, and some of the jokes are so wrong, yet oh so funny. πŸ™‚ Farewell Gentleman, and congrats Girls! Source

That’s all for now. Check back later this week for updates on more pick ups and cancellations.
