If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/17/11

Unfortunately, it’s Monday, which means back to work for a lot of people. Thankfully, there is a ton of great new TV on tonight to console you. Monday is one of my favorite nights of the week simply because of that. You? Let us know below after you see what we recommend!

My first pick tonight should come as no surprise, because Castle has been fan-freakin-tabulous this season. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is ramping up, and the rest of the cast has been really gelling well, too. The new captain is…a hard ass, to put it semi-politely. lol She still hates Castle, even with the results they are bringing, but I have to wonder if he is beginning to win her over. It’s going to be fun to see how he charms her over to his side—cause you know he will…he’s Richard Castle, after all! Tonight, Beckett is going to get jealous about Castle’s attraction to one of the people involved in their investigation. Will this get her one step closer to admitting to him that she remembers everything from the day she was shot, and that she loves him, too? Only time will tell!

On tonight’s episode, “Eye of the Beholder,” Castle & Beckett work a murder case around the theft of a valuable sculpture. Kristin Lehman (The Killing) guest stars as Serena Kaye, a smart, sexy insurance investigator, who joins Castle & Beckett in the investigation, but she also has her eyes set on Castle, all the while hiding a very important secret from the team. Jessica Tuck (True Blood) also guest stars as Joy McHugh, a wealthy museum benefactor who becomes a suspect in the murder investigation.

If you haven’t had the chance to watch 2 Broke Girls yet, you have been missing out on comedic gold. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this comedy, but I have come to LOVE it. Max (Kat Dennings) is always sarcastic, and sometimes, her sarcasm is really dirty – but it’s always hilarious. The chemistry between Max and Caroline is amazing, and I love the fact that they have a horse in the back yard of an apartment. On last week’s episode, Max helped Caroline break into her old room to get her bite guard, and Max finally realized just how much Caroline gave up. This made her see Caroline in a new light.

On this week’s episode, “And the ’90s Horse Party,” Max and Caroline throw a 90’s themed party at the diner to raise money for their cupcake business, but Caroline is horrified when her rich ex-boyfriend attends the party.

Check out this hilarious comedy on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of 2 Broke Girls @ Clicker.

I really enjoyed last week’s episode of House. I thought they did a good job of giving House a way to leave prison and get back into the hospital. I love his new team of one, Dr. Chi Park. She’s a lot of fun! She’s got a bit of House in her, with her history of punching out her superior. However, she also still lives with her parents and is scared to disappoint them. In the first two episodes of the season, we still haven’t seen Chase or Thirteen, so it will be interesting to see how they react to House’s return.

In tonight’s episode, “Charity Case,” when a man (Wentworth Miller, Prison Break) collapses after making a generous donation, House and Dr. Chi Park try to identify his medical disorder. Also, Thirteen’s pursuit of happiness is hampered by feelings of guilt.

Teens have been transfixed by the summer’s guilty pleasure, The Lying Game. Twin characters Sutton and Emma have brought double the drama to ABC Family, as this show has taken over as one of the hottest teen dramas on TV. Alexandra Chando has made her mark as the troubled twosome and has hit all the right notes. Tweens and teens have gotten hooked on the show about Emma, a foster kid who learns that she has an identical twin sister named Sutton. Sutton, unlike Emma, was adopted by a wealthy family and has seemingly lived quite the ideal life. After a somewhat awkward initial meeting, Sutton convinces Emma to step into her life for a few days while she checks out a lead on the mysterious identity of their birth mother. When Sutton fails to meet up with Emma at their designated location, Emma has to decide whether or not to come clean about her identity and risk her own safety in the hope of figuring out her twin sister’s whereabouts, along with the truth about why they were separate in the first place. With a unique premise and some attractive eye candy, The Lying Game has the staying power.

Tonight, on the midseason finale, it is the twins’ seventeenth birthday, and instead of celebrating their birthday together, Emma is planning an escape as an angry Sutton returns to Phoenix to get her life back. Knowing it had to come to an end sometime, Emma tries to say goodbye to the family and friends that she’d always dreamed of, before Sutton arrives home and reveals the truth. However, angry is not a good color on Sutton, as she does not plan on revealing the truth; she does plan on ruining Emma, though. But with Ethan begging Emma to stay and fight for the life she wants, will Emma stand up for herself for once? Also, Thayer and Char become increasingly suspicious of Alec.

My second pick tonight is the new episode of Hart of Dixie. I have to admit, I’m a couple of episodes behind on this show, but not because I don’t want to watch. I just have been so busy with work, some things are just building up on the DVR! But I’ve seen several tweets from people that this week’s episode is the hottest episode of the season so far, so if you’re a fan, don’t miss it, and if you haven’t had a chance to catch this one yet, please tune in! Rachel Bilson is simply adorable.

On tonight’s episode, “In Havoc & In Heat,” as Bluebell is hit by an intense heat wave, Zoe discovers that the hot weather makes everyone act differently and with a lot less inhibition. In fact, it takes all of Zoe’s strength to ignore her heat-induced attraction to Wade until it gets the best of her. Meanwhile, Lemon prepares for the arrival of George’s family, determined to win them over, but her emotions get the best of her when Lavon shows up to the same restaurant with his date, Didi (Nadine Velazquez).

It wouldn’t be a Monday night in my house without a visit with my boyfriend on Hawaii Five-0. 😀 This season has been great so far, and I am loving the intense cases we’ve been seeing. I’m concerned that Steve is going to find out some information about his father that will change his life forever. Last week’s episode had the team scrambling to solve the murder of a deep sea diver. Chin Ho is worried about the company Kono has been keeping, with good reason. They are bad news.

On tonight’s episode, “Ma’ema’e,” Five-0 investigates the murder of a women’s volleyball coach, and the probe leads the team to discover more bad news about Kono and her ongoing legal problems. Meanwhile, Chin Ho reconnects with his former fiancee (Reiko Aylesworth).

Another show I continue to enjoy every Monday night is Terra Nova. Last week, we got another entertaining episode when a mysterious illness broke out, causing everyone to act a little nuts. I like that they continue to give us a dose of Dino Chomping Action every week!

In tonight’s episode, “The Runaway,” when an orphaned “Sixer” girl comes to Terra Nova, seeking asylum, Jim and Shannon are at odds if they can trust her. Meanwhile, Mira plots to reclaim a valued possession, Taylor begins to suspect there is a traitor in his midst, and Reynolds admits his feelings for Maddy.

I love Mike & Molly, because the cast is just extremely hilarious. Every single one of them brings something different to the table and makes the show worth watching. Now that Mike is living with Molly and her mom & sister, I can imagine things will only get funnier. Things can get kind of uncomfortable if you’re the only guy in a house with three women, I’d imagine!

On tonight’s episode, “’57 Chevy Bel Air,” Molly gets upset with Mike when he disregards their need to save up money for their upcoming wedding. Instead, he is more interested in the classic vintage 1957 Chevy Bel Air that Vince is willing to sell him for the right price.

See the new episode tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Mike & Molly @ Clicker.

I am so excited to see Wentworth Miller on House. My DVR is overworked on Mondays but that’s ok because it’s all TV worth watching.

  2. Kyle says:

The problem with Mondays is that I always already have a huge backlog from Sunday, and have work meetings until 7pm, which gives me no time to tackle that backlog before more new shows! At least Mondays and Tuesdays are relatively light for me (only 5-6 hrs of programming). But still tends to get backed up since a lot of what I watch isn’t on until 9 or 10 and all the cable stuff overlaps and needs to be recorded during early morning/late night reruns.

That said, always glad when a cool guest star shows up on a show I already watch, so I don’t need to add yet another show to my rotation 🙂 (Still haven’t had a chance to watch the T.R. Knight SVU)

I don’t watch House anymore, but I love Wentworth Miller. Kind of sad. lol
