If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/6/11

I’m so excited about tonight’s new television. There are so many good shows on tonight that my DVR is packed full! We are less than 3 weeks from Christmas now. That means shows will taper off quickly for the winter break, so watch em while you can!

There’s so much on tonight, but the first thing I have to recommend is the season finale of Covert Affairs. I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it is fantastic for some many different reasons. There is a huge development in the relationship between Annie and her sister, and aside from the flashback episode where he lost his sight, tonight is the most emotional and brilliant episode for Auggie. This whole season, we’ve dealt with Annie telling Danielle about being in the CIA and the fallout from that, as well as a new relationship for Auggie with the sister of the soldier in Auggie’s unit that died on the same mission he lost his sight. It’s been a great season and it all leads up to tonight’s finale. If you’re a fan, you don’t want to miss it. It’s a nail-biter and just a terrific episode all the way around!

On tonight’s episode, “Letter Never Sent,” while on vacation in Stockholm with Danielle, Annie is asked to courier a package to a gala for the CIA. But after Danielle is mistaken for Annie at the event, it becomes clear that Annie’s mission has put both their lives in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Auggie visits the doctor and Jai has a run in with his father, Auggie, and Arthur. Rena Sofer, Gregory Itzin and Joakim Natterqvis guest star.

Check it out tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Covert Affairs @ Clicker.

Where would I be without Glee? Honestly, I don’t know. It’s true that there are those that feel the storylines are weak and unbelievable. To those, I ask you to remember that it is a musical television show, and to take it for what it is – pure entertainment. Last week’s episode made me cry when Santana finally came out of the closet and her Grandma kicked her out of her house. I was so sad for her. The other part of the episode where they all sang songs to Santana to give her strength was awesome, and Finn’s solo of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” done in a slow ballad form, was fabulous.

Tonight’s episode, “Hold on to Sixteen,” is busy and has some of our old favorites returning. In a final attempt to recruit more members, Finn tracks down Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) and convinces him to come back to glee club. Tina comes to the defense of Mike and encourages him to pursue his dream, while McKinley prepares to host the big sectionals performance.

Last week’s Sons of Anarchy was amazing, and I can’t wait for tonight’s second half of the season finale. Even after being shot by Opie, Clay wanted to make sure the club was clean, so he told Uncer and Jax to move his body into the shop, and to tell the police it was two black guys who’d shot him. When the rest of the club heard the story, Tig headed off to find the Niners to get revenge, killing Laroy’s girlfriend in the process. Meanwhile, Tara told Gemma where to find the letters. After first removing any that mention her or Uncer, Gemma told Jax she wants no more secrets, gave him the letters, and told him the truth about Clay and his father’s death. She told Jax he needs to reclaim his rightful seat at the head of the club. However, Tara has her plans that don’t involve the club. In front of Gemma, she told Jax how he will kill Clay, handing him a needle full of blood thinner. Jax then promised that they will leave Charming as soon as he took care of Clay. After Jax left, Gemma asked Tara what she was doing, to which she replied, “Everthing you taught me—he’s mine!”

There are still a lot of things to resolve tonight, such as what’s happening with the RICO case? Why was Jax told that Otto gave the Feds nothing, when we know he did? Will the meeting with the cartel happen? And will Jax or Opie actually kill Clay? I have my doubts that Clay will actually be killed off tonight, though his days with the club are numbered either way. Last week’s scenes with Gemma and/or Tara were so amazing, and I hope tonight’s finale will be on par. This has been such an excellent season, especially after last year’s Ireland mess.

In tonight’s episode, “To Be, Act 2,” Jax must overcome major obstacles to complete the gun deal with the Irish and the cartel in the conclusion of the Season 4 finale.

I’ve been jonesing for new episodes of my favorite shows on Syfy, so I’m really happy to have them on tonight! Last season, we got a cute Christmas episode for Warehouse 13 that was more heartwarming than anything. According to Eddie McClintock (Pete) himself, tonight’s special is a bit darker, more serious—but with the humor and heart we’ve come to expect from the show. In Eddie’s own words, I mean Roger Rees is back as Macpherson, you know, there’s an actual bad guy and the stakes are much higher this year.” It should be a great episode—and if you don’t remember from last year, this exists outside the regular episodes, so Jinksy and Mrs. Fredricks aren’t dead. Yay for that!

On tonight’s episode, “The Greatest Gift,” an artifact propels Pete into a life where he was never born. Now, in order to get things back to normal, he must hunt down and persuade the Warehouse team to join him on a life or death mission.

Last week on Raising Hope, Jimmy learned that maybe he and Sabrina weren’t as compatible as he thought. After teaming up with her in order to develop a brand new invention, he learned just how bossy and opinionated Sabrina can be. Here Jimmy thought he would get in good with Sabrina after finding out that her current boyfriend Wyatt always ignores her ideas. Guess Jimmy came to realize that there was a reason for that. Tonight marks the return of talented singer/actor Greyson Chance portraying young Jimmy. In his first appearance, Greyson sang the song “Hard To Handle,” and he had all the women swooning both on the show and in real life. Tonight should be more of the same!

Tonight on an all new episode, Burt pushes Jimmy to be more of a daredevil, while Jimmy and Frank try to take revenge on their former high school nemesis. Greyson Chance guest stars tonight as a young Jimmy!

One show I’m really enjoying still is Flashpoint. It’s so much more than a normal cop show, in my opinion. The team is so great together, and the side stories, like Ed’s family, Parker’s son, and the relationship between Sam & Jules makes the show even that much stronger. I look forward to watching this each week and think you should definitely make room for it in your schedule, as well.

On tonight’s episode, “Blue on Blue,” when Sam’s sister is threatened, Spike steps up to proctect her and winds up in a trap that forces him to square off against his own team.

My Tuesdays always end on a happy note when after Glee, I can watch my new favorite sitcom, New Girl. There isn’t anything not to love about this hilarious show. It has everything. Love, humour, drama, humour… did I mention humour? 🙂 Jess (Zooey Deschanel) makes us love her more every week with her quirkiness. I love the interactions between the cast. They are perfection every time. Last episode, we watched as Schmidt and Nick battled out some friendship issues, and I still don’t know how Nick got the furniture into Schmidt’s room. 🙂

This week’s episode, “Bad in Bed,” we see the return of Jess’ new boyfriend, Paul (Justin Long). Jess asks the guys for some sex advice after deciding to take her relationship with Paul to the next level. Meanwhile, Schmidt worms his was into his boss’ baby shower to compete with his female nemesis from work.

I can’t wait to see the finished product of tonight’s Eureka Christmas episode, “Do You See What I See?” In this stand-alone episode, Eureka becomes animated after a strange wave of colors washes over the town. I got to see an unfinished screener of this episode, and even in that state, it was quite entertaining. There is a great mix of animation styles, including Anime, claymation, and Looney Tunes-inspired. The animation is used quite well and doesn’t feel like a gimmick.

As with tonight’s other Syfy special holiday shows, this episode is stand-alone and takes place out of the season’s timeline. So anyone can enjoy it without having previously seen the prior season, or any episode for that matter.

Check it out tonight on Syfy at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Eureka @ Clicker.

Completing tonight’s Syfy lineup is the holiday episode of Haven. Of course, it’s not just any story…they do it the Haven way. Nothing is ever normal in Haven, and tonight’s special will prove that! Christmas decorations are popping up all over Haven, yet nobody but Audrey thinks it’s strange—even though it’s July! But when the townspeople start disappearing into thin air, Audrey convinces Nathan they must find a way to stop it before it’s too late.

Check it out to see which of your favorite Haven residents vanish tonight on Syfy at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Haven @ Clicker.
