If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/31/12

Can I just say that I am beyond frustrated with Best Buy? If anyone remembers, my down arrow key broke off my laptop (so bad that it can’t be put back), and the other arrow keys are not quite right. So we finally took it to Best Buy tonight, who said I have the standard warranty, but that the keyboard problems fall under “accidental” coverage. The same one that covers spills and droppage, etc. WTF? Ok, fine. Give me an estimate on how much it’ll cost to fix it. Should be easy, right? Look up the laptop ID, you should be able to figure out how long a keyboard replacement should take and should know how much that will cost. No…we’d have to send it in JUST TO GET THE DAMN ESTIMATE! Again… WTF?! So fine, we’ll call some of the local repair shops. Idiots. Anyway, I’m currently enjoying Monday night’s TV while I write this up, so that’s helping calm me down. 😉 Now, let’s see what we think you should be watching TONIGHT. 🙂

The last new episode of Raising Hope was hysterical, as Jimmy, Virginia, and Burt worked to get their GEDs. None of the three of them would have passed had they not worked together and cheated. It was so wrong, but so cute. I loved how they each used someone to help them and the way those people helped them learn. Jimmy and Sabrina with Hope at the playground? Adorable. Virginia and Maw Maw singing and playing the piano to learn History? Frank working with Burt, acting out the play? Both so great. Fred Williard was brilliant as the teacher who had taught all three of them back in high school. I love this show something fierce. It never fails to make me laugh, and I can’t wait to see and every episode.

On tonight’s episode, “Gambling Again,” Burt becomes obsessed with gambling when he believes he can reclaim all the items he lost when he bet away all the Chance’s belongings nearly 20 years ago. Worried about his bad habit reemerging, Virginia and Jimmy try to intervene but soon get swept up in the betting frenzy and develop their own gambling habit. But their luck begins to run out when they miss Shelley’s staged play written by Sabrina and starring Hope as the lead.

Tonight is finally the night where we will find out what Rachel said when Finn proposed to her – well, I hope we do. It was really frustrating how he proposed right before the episode ended, and even more annoying that there wasn’t a new episode last week. I’m on the fence with the whole proposal. One part of me wants to see them get married, while the other part of me screams for them not to. I guess we’ll have to see what they have in store for us. I’m also looking forward to more Mercedes and Sam stuff. I love them together.

On tonight’s episode, “Michael,” it’s a celebration of Michael Jackson’s music, while the rivalry between the New Directions and the Warblers intensifies en route to Regionals. Meanwhile, Kurt and Rachel receive news regarding their admissions process at NYADA, and things continue to heat up between Sam and Mercedes.

I really enjoy the White Collar episodes that involve undercover work. Last week was a very fun episode, where Peter went undercover as the father of a prospective student at a high society private school in order to catch a man who was embezzling from the school’s scholarship fund. Meanwhile, the others took it upon themselves to join in on the undercover fun—Neal as a substitute teacher and Diana as Peter’s mistress. It’s episodes like these where everyone works together that I really enjoy—you can really see how much fun the writers and cast have and how great the chemistry is!

In tonight’s episode, “Neighborhood Watch,” Peter and Neal uncover a plot to rob a swanky hotel after Elizabeth overhears her neighbor discussing something suspicious. Joe Manganiello (True Blood) guest stars. (Tiffany Thiessen talked about this episode during a White Collar Q&A back in August.)

See it tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of White Collar @ Clicker.

Last week on Southland, Tang and Cooper were attacked in the street while Lydia and Ruben investigated a convenience store murder. Ben and Sammy had a ride along with another officer and got more than they bargained for. Meanwhile, Joel Rucker took over as the new captain.

Tonight, on “Community,” a violent gang war erupts when Sammy leaves a gang territory unattended on Hood Day. Ben is haunted by a recent mistake, and Ruben practices his speech. Also, Cooper and Tang investigate a robbery.

Were any of you surprised last week on Justified when the marshall’s killer turned out to be one of his witnesses? Crazy! I have to say I LOVED Art in last week’s episode. I think that was the most I’ve ever seen him involved in a case. Very nice. I loved all the scenes with Boyd in prison and how Raylan kept foiling Boyd’s plans. haha It was scary when the baby started making noise, alerting the bad guys as to where they were, although the cheesy music was a bit weird. I’m still not a huge fan of Winona, and of Winona and Raylan together. I guess that ship has sailed, though, since they are having a baby together. (I like his ex…Maybe he & Winona will break up! lol) I do have to admit the image of him folding the ultrasound picture and putting it in his pocket was too adorable. I quite enjoy this show. It usually does a pretty damn good job of keeping me on the edge of my seat most of the time!

On tonight’s episode, “Harlan Roulette,” Raylan’s face-off with a tyrannical Oxy dealer puts him on a collision course with the new head of the Dixie Mafia. Boyd fights to take back part of his family’s empire, but his methods threaten to tear his crew apart.

Check it out tonight on FX at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Justified @ Clicker.

There are so many ways to say funny, but my favorite is New Girl. This show is consistently hilarious week after week. The awkward, sweet Jess is always so goofy – while the insecure Schmidt runs around acting like he’s far more confident than he is. I’ve seen this week’s episode already, and it’s fantastic. There is some great stuff with different people’s relationships, and it’s all so deliciously funny.

On tonight’s episode, “Jess and Julia,” Nick panics when Julia (Lizzy Caplan) doesn’t want to put a label on their relationship. Meanwhile, Jess enlists Julia’s help to help her get out of a traffic ticket. Winston reconnects with a former booty call (Kali Hawk), and Schmidt is baffled as to why his shower towel is always damp.

To see if the mystery of the damp towel gets solved, tune in to FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of New Girl @ Clicker.
