If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/12/12

It’s the start of a new week, which is both good and bad. Good, because it means lots of great new TV, but bad, cause it means it’ll soon be time to go back to work. It’s not time yet, though. We still have the rest of today to relax, and there’s plenty on tonight to help us do just that, so check out what we think you should be watching tonight.

I’m so excited for tonight’s Worst Cooks in America. I loved both seasons before this, with Anne Burrell going up first against Bo MacMillan and then against Robert Irvine. I love Anne, and I was rooting for her in seasons 1 & 2, but I like Bobby Flay, too, so this season, I think I will just have to watch and see who I like best out of the contestants before I declare my favorite…although I have to say, I’m tempted to declare myself Team Bobby, just to mess with Kyle. 😉

If you haven’t seen this show before, it pits Anne against Bobby, each leading a team of eight “recruits” in a grueling eight-week boot camp designed to transform these culinary disaster-makers into competent cooks. A $25,000 grand prize will be awarded to the winning contestant who achieves the most progress and best performance, in addition to bragging rights and victory for their culinary mentor. It’s a lot of fun seeing almost all of the contestants go from horrendous to at least passable, with some even excelling in the kitchen!

On tonight’s episode, “Best of the Worst,” the 16 contestants display their signature dishes to Anne and Bobby in the hopes of making an impression. The Chefs instruct the new candidates on how to effectively prepare a delicious breakfast meal.

Figure out who you are rooting for tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Worst Cooks in America @ Clicker.

There’s not much else on for me tonight, but I will also be watching Cupcake Wars.

The skies turned turbulent in the last episode of Pan Am! Maggie told Ted why she had reservations about his girlfriend Amanda, and Dean pined for Colette as she had revealed she put in for a transfer to the Hong Kong hub. On a flight to Rome, Colette befriended a debonair and handsome gentlemen, who was very mysterious. His name was Omar, and a smitten Colette agreed to show him around the city. Meanwhile, Dean ended up accosted b y the local customs officials, who were on the lookout for a smuggler. Kate was tasked with having to learn the art of pickpocketing, while Laura was shocked when she discovered that Life Magazine photographer Graham sold her nude photos to an art gallery, where they had them on display. It turned out that Omar was really royalty trying to shake off his shackles, and this enticed Colette even more!

On tonight’s all new episode, “Romance Languages,” Dean is surprised by the ramifications that have come from his fling with Ginny (guest star Erin Cummings), when she stalks him to Rome with frightening consequences. Colette takes an unescorted minor under her wing, and the boy promptly develops quite the crush on her. Kate struggles with the fallout of her connection with Niko.

There are so many fairytales to be told on television these days, but Once Upon a Time does an amazing job of helping us capture the true love of the original characters. I have been loving the interactions between Mary Margaret and David and their secret love affair – wrong, but oh so right! Getting the back story into how the mirror became the mirror and how Snow White’s father died was also very intriguing and important to the story. I’m aware that there are people still on the fence on this one…well, get off the fence and on to the side of loving it. 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “Skin Deep,” after Mr. Gold’s house is robbed, Emma keeps a close eye on him when it looks like he wants to track down the criminal and dole out some vigilante justice as payback, and Valentine’s Day finds Mary Margaret, Ruby, and Ashley having a girl’s night out. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Belle (Emilie de Ravin, Lost) agrees to a fateful deal to give up her freedom in order to save her town from the horrors of the Ogre War.

To see what Mr. Gold is up to, tune in to ABC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Once Upon a Time @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching The Grammy Awards and The Walking Dead.

I can’t wait for tonight’s mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead! It’s been over two months since the last episode, when Shane lost it and smashed open the barn doors. As the walkers made their way outside, the gang open fire in a shooting spree. Once the dust settled, one final walker came stumbling out, and the group finally discovered the fate of Sophia. While Shane (and pretty much everyone else) just stood there in shock, Rick knew what needed to be done, and he took his gun and shot her.

With the Sophia question finally answered, it will be interesting to see the aftermath. Will Hershel really let these people stay on his farm after they “killed” all his loved ones in this massacre?! And if the group is forced to move on, will they stay together, and is there any place that safe for the pregnant Lori? Plus, what are they going to do with this huge pile of dead undead bodies?! And what kind of state will Carol be in now that she has definitely lost her daughter? I am so excited to finally get some new episodes!

In tonight’s episode, “Nebraska,” in the aftermath of a horrific discovery, Rick must restore order. Meanwhile, Hershel falls back into a bad habit and disappears, leaving Glenn and Rick to track him down in town.

See it tonight on AMC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Walking Dead @ Clicker.

What else I’m planning to check out tonight: The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, Once Upon a Time, Downton Abbey, Desperate Housewives, Worst Cooks in America (#TeamAnne), Comic Book Men, Angry Boys, Shameless, and Luck! (Yikes, that’s a lot!)

Last week, we left off on Mob Wives with Drita taking further steps toward her divorce from Lee. She was also surprised to learn that Carla had called a truce with Karen. Although, after her confrontation with Karen, Carla did question whether she could ever trust her. Renee found herself caught in the crossfire of the two camps of women. Also, things came to a head when Renee was confronted by her suspicions about Ramona.

Tonight, on “Fights and Facials,” Renee’s insecurities about Junior’s past cheating ways begin to resurface, and with Drita’s help, Renee’s curiosity leads her to breaking into Junior’s phone to spy. However, Drita’s own issues come up for her to deal with, and she needs to break the news to her daughter Aleeya that she is divorcing her father. Karen’s entrepreneurial spirit leads her to throw a spa party at Renee’s house. Unfortunately, a day of beauty turns ugly when Renee unleashes Ramona’s wrath and pushes Ramona to confront Carla, her archenemy, once and for all.

Watch the war of words go down at 8/7c on VH1. Learn where to find episodes online of Mob Wives @ Clicker.

I am also watching Once Upon a Time, The Grammy Awards, and Downton Abbey tonight!
