If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/6/12

Tonight is exciting for fans of FOX Tuesday comedies, because there are some great episodes, including a season premiere & a spring premiere, but there’s also some great dramas on, so check out our picks for what you should be watching!

How much do I love that Jimmy & Sabrina are now a couple on Raising Hope? I am still a little worried that it will screw up the dynamics of the show, but I have to trust Greg Garcia & the writers to do right by the viewers. Last week was fun, what with the two of them trying to figure out whether to truly be themselves or to hide the quirks and flaws…and farts. *laugh* It’s something almost every new couple has to deal with. Seeing Sabrina’s quirk about sleeping with pantyhose on her head because she was afraid of spiders crawling into her head when she slept was great. And then that fear landed Jimmy in the hospital? Fantastic. I can’t wait to see where they take this.

On tonight’s episode, “Single White Female Role Model,” Sabrina is arrested after participating in an Occupy Natesville protest and is sentenced to two weeks in prison. One of the prison attendant’s (special guest star Katy Perry!) claims to be a friend from her past and will stop at nothing to make Sabrina’s stay in the slammer as dreadful as possible until she remembers their childhood friendship. Meanwhile, the mayor of Natesville grants Virginia three wishes after she helps her avoid a public scandal, but when Jimmy turns down the mayor’s advances, Sabrina’s chances of being exonerated are put at risk.

Laugh along with the crazy tonight on FOX in its new time slot at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

It’s the season premiere for the hilarious comedy, Breaking In, and I couldn’t be happier. I love this show, especially because I’ve adored Bret Harrison since his days on Reaper, and of course, Christian Slater is adorable. There was a time where this show was going to be canceled, but it was pulled from the chopping block and restored.
Breaking In follows the employees at Contra Security, and this season, we’ll see what happens when the company is bought out by a stuffy, multi-billion dollar, global corporation and being run by Veronica Mann (Megan Mullally, Will & Grace). I am sure whatever happens, it’s going to be comedy perfection.

In the second season premiere, “The Contra Club,” Cameron, Cash, and Melanie discover that Oz was forced to sell the company to a corporate conglomerate headed by the brash and bold Veronica Mann, who, along with her prickly British assistant Molly, turn the office upside-down.

To see how the team adjusts to the new strong female leader, tune in to FOX at 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Breaking In @ Clicker.

Jane By Design has been one of this season’s funnest new shows. I was really happy when ABC Family recently announced that they had picked up the series for another 8 episodes to air this summer. Otherwise, tonight’s episode may have been the last! Last week, India requested for Jane to join her on a trip to Beverly Hills, thinking that she was stopping Jane from having a romantic weekend with Jeremy. However, Jane had to abandon her school camping trip and plans with Nick. At the camping trip, Billy saw Lulu and Nick kissing. Meanwhile, Ben discovered the truth about Jane’s double life, and Billy answered his brother’s call for a ride—only to discover himself behind the wheel of a getaway car as the cops arrived.

How will Ben knowing Jane’s secret affect things? Will Billy get arrested? Will Billy tell Jane about Nick and Lulu? Does this leave an opening for Billy and Jane to (finally) start a relationship? I can’t wait to see tonight’s episode! I wonder how much resolution we will get, especially with tonight’s episode planned at least as a mid-season finale.

In tonight’s episode, “The End of the Line,” Jane prepares for Fashion Week, and her coworkers lean on her, but she may have to bail on them since Ben now knows about her secret. Elsewhere, Billy has to face the consequences of aiding his brother’s illegal activities.

See it tonight on ABC Family at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Jane By Design @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Cougar Town, The River, Raising Hope, New Girl, Breaking In, Switched at Birth, Southland, and Chopped.

Tang didn’t have an easy day when last we left her on Southland. She began her morning being served with divorce papers and ended it with shooting an innocent kid who was holding a toy gun. Sammy held a grudge against Ben for not backing him up over evidence that might have been planted during a previous arrest of theirs. Also, Lydia had to make a decision about her pregnancy after the captain spoke to her about her odd behavior.

Tonight, on “God’s Work,” Lydia and Ruben investigate the death of a nanny who, in an alarming investigative snag, the children who were in her care have gone missing. Also, Ben’s efforts to help out a prostitute with a daughter backfires while John corners Tang about coming clean about a past shooting.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Raising Hope, Cougar Town, and New Girl!

If you aren’t a fan of Cougar Town, I don’t get it. The show is one of the best comedies on TV. The cast is so great, and the storylines and jokes are all spot on. If you’ve never watched because of the name, worried about what it means…don’t be. It may have started off about a divorced woman dating much younger men, but it quickly moved away from that once the chemistry between Jules and Grayson became apparent. Now, it’s about a group of family and friends well into their adult lives, hanging out, drinking wine, and having a great time together. The jokes are snappy, the storylines are fun, and the cast is seriously one of the best on TV. If you aren’t watching, give it a shot. Right now, one of the biggest stories each week is wedding planning for Jules & Grayson. Bobby is learning how to deal with it, because it truly means Jules has moved on from their divorce.

On tonight’s episode, “Full Moon Fever,” one look is all it takes for Bobby to fall for Travis’ photography professor, but Travis refuses to introduce them; Laurie falls for a guy she’s never met when she begins a romance, via twitter, with a soldier in Iraq; and Jules and Andy prepare to go to war against an unruly gang of kids on bikes who are terrorizing the cul-de-sac. Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) guest stars.

Grab some wine and settle in to watch ABC at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Cougar Town @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching 19 Kids & Counting, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, Breaking In, Chopped, Justified, & Top Shot.

As far as comedy goes, FOX has a good Tuesday night line up starting tonight. We’re getting an all new episode of I Hate My Teenage Daughter on top of all the other great comedies. This show hasn’t been perfect every week for many people, but I have enjoyed it. I love the family drama and the way the women deal with their ex-husbands. The teenage girls are a bit much at times, but then again, what teenage girl isn’t?

On tonight’s spring premiere, “Teenage Escuela,” Sophie tells Annie that she does not care about getting good grades, so Annie decides to set an example by taking night classes at the local community college. Nikki joins her in a Spanish class and is surprisingly fluent, as she frequently watches telenovelas. Meanwhile, the dads are in charge of getting the girls to finish an important school project.

To see why they hate their teenage daughters this week, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of I Hate My Teenage Daughter @ Clicker.

I’m also going to be watching New Girl & The River.
