If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/14/12

Tonight, there’s so much great TV to choose from! Between last week’s stupid move on Survivor, two new shows starting up, Face Off coming to an end, and an all-new ABC comedy block, I emailed Jenny 3 times changing my pick for tonight! Read on to see what I finally settled on and what everyone else is recommending you tune in to tonight.

Kyle’s Choice

I think we’re all entitled to at least one of those cheesy, “reality” shows that is far from real. I have been a huge fan of Flipping Out ever since I first tuned in – primarily due to the funny “characters’ on the show. Tonight, Bravo kicks off a new series called Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis. Each week, our favorite Flipping Out trio – real-estate maven Jeff Lewis, his assistant Jenni Pulos, and housekeeper Zoila Chavez – will spend 5 days living in with their clients. They will help them renovate their homes, but also transform their personal lives.

Based on the premise, I am so excited to see this show and expect it to be just as hilarious and off the wall as Flipping Out. I can’t wait to see how perfectionist Jeff Lewis will deal with living with other families, outside of the comfort of his own home. Jeff seems a bit crazy himself, so it will be interesting to see what kind of personal advice he gives to others.

In tonight’s premiere, “Almost Perfect,” Jeff Lewis tries to renovate a master suite for a perfectionist, but construction blunders could derail the project.

See it tonight on Bravo at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching the Face Off season finale, Monster Man series premiere, Psych, Survivor, Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, Suburgatory, Modern Family, Happy Endings, Whitney, and Are You There, Chelsea?.

Last week’s The Shining-themed episode of Psych was hysterical. The best part was watching Lassie freak out about all the strange things that were happening. Then when we figured out that Sara Rue’s character was crazy and behind it all…that was great. Speaking of Sara Rue… How fantastic does she look?! She’s always been pretty, but man… I’m excited about tonight’e episode for a lot of reasons, but the main thing is the guest stars. WWE Superstar The Miz is on, but I don’t really care about him. 😉 I also don’t care a ton about Lindsay Sloane, from The Stones, Grosse Pointe, & Sabrina the Teenage Witch. However, I do so love Wayne Brady (from Whose Line Is It Anyway?) & Greg Grunberg (who was one of my favorite characters on Alias, as well as his roles on Heroes & Love Bites.

On tonight’s episode, “Shawn and the Real Girl,” Shawn and Gus go undercover to investigate the attempted murder of a contestant on a reality show called, “Paths of Love,” a Bachelorette-type dating show, where eligible men compete for the affections of a woman each contestant has crossed paths with in the past but has never actually met.

Check it out tonight on USA Network at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Psych @ Clicker.

This is the year of singing competitions, so it would seem, and lately, I have been less than thrilled with American Idol. I was really hoping they would give the adorable Jeremy one more shot, but alas, they sent him packing. It should have been Elise, because she was way worse than Jeremy last week, but as we’ve learnt in the past, judges can’t always be counted on for wise decisions.

On tonight’s episode, the Top 12 take the stage to battle for your votes and prove that they are worthy to stay another week.

To see if Elise sucks again this week, tune in to FOX at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of American Idol @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Criminal Minds, Suburgatory, One Tree Hill, Survivor, and CSI.

The Happy Endings friends last left us with Alex and Jane trying to convince Dave that he was remembering something that never happened. Meanwhile, Penny and Max tried to beat an annoyingly super smug and perfect couple at a scavenger hunt.

On tonight’s episode, “Party of Six,” it’s Penny’s birthday, and her celebrations are always extremely disastrous for everyone. This year, the best buds are determined to find a restaurant that will help break the curse so that Penny can enjoy her extra special day.

Catch a fit of giggles and get a “happy ending” tonight on ABC at 9:30/8:30c! Learn where to find episodes online of Happy Endings @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also watching The Middle, Suburgatory, Modern Family, and Psych!

Jenny’s Choice #2

Last week was the return of Hot in Cleveland and Happily Divorced on TV Land. Both were amusing, although I have to say that the ladies of Hot in Cleveland stole the show. Chris Gorham was hysterical in his role of a Mormon or Jehovas Witness type person who was going door to door, trying to talk to people about the Lord, who then ended up seeing Victoria and admitting that he had loved her for years. Of course, I had high hopes for Melanie and her new love interest, even though he was Joy’s ex-fiancé, but that didn’t turn out well after he admitted to Joy (and everyone) that he’d been engaged multiple times and had called off the wedding each time. The only good to come out of that was now Joy knows it wasn’t her fault. Then, of course, there was Victoria’s ex-husband (Booger from Revenge of the Nerds) and his paralyzing spider and smart-mouthed parrot. All in all, it was a lot of fun. On Happily Divorced, my favorite parts were the intervention Fran’s family and friends staged when she started talking with Elliot again, the way Peter and Judy kept conspiring against her at the gym and the reunion, and figuring out the guy that was flirting with Fran at the bar was the husband of Jill, her old arch nemesis. I always laugh while watching this show, and last week’s new episodes were no different.

On tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, “Hot & Heavy,” Victoria, eager to win a Newsie Award, goes to Overeaters Anonymous disguised in a fat suit. Elka tags along, claiming she lost 600 pounds! Melanie meets Sam at a different “Anonymous” meeting. Joy goes out with a man who’s a big departure from her type. Reid Scott (The Big C) & James Patrick Stuart (Supernatural) guest star.

Then on tonight’s episode of Happily Divorced, “Peter Comes Out Again,” Fran gets the shock of her life when she discovers that Peter is not out to his family, so when his brother Matthew is in town, she pushes him to finally come out of the closet. Once Matthew realizes that Fran is single, things between them start to heat up. Jeffrey Nordling (Desperate Housewives) guest stars.

Tune in for both on TV Land at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Hot in Cleveland & Happily Divorced @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing Suburgatory, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, Happy Endings, Restaurant Stakeout, & Restaurant: Impossible.

I remember Mike “The Miz” from The Real World–don’t care about him either though. However, I have enjoyed Lindsay Sloane’s work–I watched all the episodes of The Stones before it was prematurely pulled off the air, and Grosse Pointe is still one of my favorites.
