Last night, I saw the movie Project X, and let me say that it was both hilarious and terrifying. It was so funny in so many ways, but it was also a slight scary for the future of our youth. Although, if my daughter threw a party like that in the future, I’m pretty sure there would be a small piece of me that was incredibly proud of her ingenuity – mostly, I’d be furious. Enough about movies, though. Let’s see what’s on TV tonight to help you get your midweek relax on.
It’s never an dull night on American Idol. Okay, maybe there can be, but last week’s episode was filled with drama, thanks to Jermaine Jones. Then of course there was the amazing performance of “When a Man Loves a Woman” by Joshua that brought the whole place to it’s feet and gave me goosebumps. It amazes me that I only have one person this season so far that I really dislike – DeAndre (aka Side Show Bob). He’s just so incredibly annoying. Last week, Shannon’s attempt at “One Fine Day” (by Mariah Carey/Boyz II Men) led to her ultimate demise. Farewell.
Let’s hope tonight, the Top 10 bring us another awe inspiring moment as they take the stage to fight for your votes.

We last left off the funny bunch on Happy Endings with Penny’s tragic birthday. All of her celebrations had always ended up in complete disaster for everyone. This year, the Chicago crew was determined to find a restaurant that would help them break the curse in order to give Penny a special day. As usual, the best intentions perpetually seemed to get muddled!
Tonight, on “You Snooze, You Bruise,” Dave gets bullied at the gym, and Alex tries to teach him to fight back. Plus, residents of the condo challenge Jane for her job as President of the homeowner’s association.

Tonight, NBC kicks off a new romantic comedy series, Bent, with a double-dose of episodes. The series stars Amanda Peet (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) as Alex, a newly-divorced, high-strung lawyer and single mother, who hires womanizing contractor Peter (David Walton, Perfect Couples, Heist) and his crew to remodel her kitchen. Their personalities couldn’t be more different, but maybe they’ll learn something from one another, transforming each other’s lives while renovating the house. (Yeah, I know that sounds cheesy :))
This has all the signs of a burn-off series—only six episodes were ordered, and they are already airing two of them tonight. However, I seem to really enjoy these short-lived comedy shows. Plus, it’s not like it’s a huge commitment. It seems like Amanda Peet usually plays the bad girl role, so it will be interesting to see this change-up. And I enjoyed Walton’s previous work in another short-lived series, Perfect Couples.
In tonight’s pilot episode, a newly divorced single mom moves to a smaller home in need of repairs and hires a seductive, easygoing contractor, whose charms she tries to resist. Then, in “Smitten,” Alex tries to accelerate her romance with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Pete gets back together with his ex, and the men in Alex’s life attempt to impress Charlie.
See it tonight on NBC at 9/8c & 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Bent @ Clicker.
Tonight, I’ll also be watching Survivor, Criminal Minds, CSI, Happy Endings, Psych, Monster Man, Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis, Whitney, and Are You There, Chelsea?.

On last week’s episode of Psych, the world of reality TV never knew what hit it. Shawn and Gus went undercover in order to expose a murderer among contestants participating in a dating show, including guest star The Miz. This undercover gig didn’t sit very well with Jules as her relationship with Shawn continues to grow deeper. When the object of the contestant’s affection started to have eyes for Shawn, Juliet began to see red! Greg Grunberg and Lindsay Sloane also guest starred.
Tonight, on “Let’s Doo-Wop It Again,” when the founder of “Right Now,” Santa Barbara’s oldest at-risk youth program, is shot and almost killed, Shawn, Gus and a few members of Gus’s a capella group from college investigate to find the culprit. Mekhi Phifer (Torchwood, Lie to Me, ER), Jaleel White (Grown Up, Family Matters), Cheech Marin (Rob, Nash Bridges), and Kristy Swanson guest star.
The psychic is in tonight at 10/9c on USA! Learn where to find episodes online of Psych @ Clicker.
Tonight, I am also watching The Middle, Suburgatory, and Modern Family.
Last week’s Hot in Cleveland was fantastic and kind of sad… I loved seeing Christopher Gorham as someone the complete opposite of Auggie (his role on Covert Affairs). But I kind of had hopes that Joy’s ex would turn out to be a pretty good guy and he and Melanie could end up having something real. I guess if one of the ladies got into a serious relationship, though, the show wouldn’t work as well. Ah well! And then on last week’s Happily Divorced, Peter’s brother came into town and he had no idea that Peter was gay. When Fran refuses to let him sleep in bed with her, he has to come out to Matthew, doing it in the funniest way possible – by just blurting it out with nothing beforehand. Then Fran and Matthew went out on a date, but when they kissed, Fran felt more like siblings than a romantic connection, much to Matthew’s displeasure and Peter’s happiness. It was great. 🙂
On tonight’s episode of Hot in Cleveland, “Rubber Ball,” when Melanie, Joy, and Victoria try to join a prestigious Cleveland country club, they discover that Elka has a long history with the club’s president. Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live), Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show), and James Patrick Stuart (Supernatural) guest star.
Then on tonight’s episode of Happily Divorced, “Daddy’s Girl,” when Glen mistakes a dying battery for a cricket in his phone, Fran worries that her father is finally getting old…But when he buys a motorcycle from Peter’s crush, Keith, Fran is afraid he has lost his mind and is going through a late life crisis. Sean Kanan (Young and the Restless) guest stars.
Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing the Bent series premiere, Psych, Criminal Minds, Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, Happy Endings, Restaurant Stakeout.
