If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/15/12

It’s the start of a new week, and there’s plenty of good TV on, even though a few days are slower than others. Tonight has some great new episodes, though, so check out our recommendations below!

Jenny’s Choice #1

Last week, I watched the premiere of The Client List. I *almost* didn’t watch it, because I haven’t been a huge fan of most of the shows on Lifetime, ABC Family, etc. But I’m so very glad I did. I’m already shipping Riley and her brother-in-law, Evan. I loved the character of Riley and thought Jennifer Love Hewitt played her perfectly. Cybill Shepherd is great at Riley’s mother, too. And Loretta Devine is fantastic as Riley’s new boss at the spa. I’m interested to see where the show goes, now that Riley’s husband has left her and she’s taken the job at the spa giving happy endings… lol

On tonight’s episode, “Turn the Page,” Riley stumbles upon the phone number of a mystery woman from her husband’s past, leaving her to wonder if he was having an affair before he disappeared. Riley blows off some steam at a local bar with some of the girls from work. And a new client named “The Camel” finds a week of comfort from Riley while he’s on leave from work. Meanwhile, Riley’s mom, Linette, embarks on a new romance with fellow churchgoer, Garrett.

Check it out tonight on Lifetime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Client List @ Clicker.

What do guns, Texas, sex, slander, and family all have in common? Well, GCB, of course! This show is my newest guilty pleasure, and if you haven’t been watching, you are insane. 😉 Last week was all about sex and how it can help a relationship when the time is right. Sharon and Zack are finally getting along, while Carlene and Amanda have an odd moment where they actually help each other for once. The weirdest moment was Blake and Cricket having sex – after they both got excited watching Spartacus (Understandable.) – but I found it really strange that they are trying to conceive naturally. Confuddled indeed.

On tonight’s episode, “Pride Comes Before a Fall,” Pastor Tudor’s rivalry with Reverend Steve has Amanda taking charge of a church musical that was written by Heather in high school. The GCBs come out of the woodwork, resulting in a sing-off between Carlene and Cricket. Meanwhile, Sharon takes her “Losing it with Jesus” weight loss program to the next level and recruits Gigi to help.

Tune in to ABC at 10/9c to watch the dramatic hilarity unfold. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching NHL Hockey (Go Vancouver and NY Rangers), The Amazing Race, NYC 22, Harry’s Law, Game of Thrones, Girls, and The Good Wife.

Tonight, CBS kicks off the new series NYC 22, produced by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal. The series follows six NYPD rookies as they join upper Manhattan’s 22nd Precinct. Each of the trainees has his or her own unique background – marine, police news reporter, family with a history of crime, Afghani native, fourth generation police officer, and NBA failure. The rookies are assigned to Officer Daniel “Yoda” Dean (Adam Goldberg) of the Gang Intel Unit, who will train them on how to keep the gangbangers at bay.

From the ads, my first thought was this looks like a cross between Rookie Blue and SouthLAnd. However, I do enjoy both of those shows, so I am looking forward to checking this new show out. It will be interesting to see how each of these rookies uses his or her unique background to help them in their new career and how they all work together. The series features a lot of recognizable actors, including Adam Goldberg (who I’ll always remember for his role on Friends), Leelee Sobieski (mini Helen Hunt!), Terry Kinney, Stark Sands, and lots of others who have guested on many of my favorite procedurals.

In tonight’s premiere, the officers go on patrol for the first time and try to prevent a gang war and domestic murder.

Tonight, I’ll also be recording Game of Thrones, The Amazing Race, The Good Wife, Titanic, GCB, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, The Cleveland Show, Chopped All Stars, Unchained Reaction, The Killing, Mad Men, Girls, Nurse Jackie, and The Big C.

When we last left the Mob Wives, Renee was trying to swallow the bitter pill of losing both Junior and her father to jail. Rumors swirled around Staten Island surrounding Junior’s sudden surrender. Meanwhile, Drita visited Lee in prison, and Big Ang tried to cheer up Renee by taking her to an over-the-top drag show. Laughter quickly turned to tears again, though, as Renee’s life was changed forever as a result of Junior’s arrest. The fire was fueled by a surge of gossip that Junior may have ratted out Renee’s father. It’s never a dull moment for these Mob Wives, but through thick or thin, they at least have each other.

On tonight’s new episode, “What Goes Around,” Renee’s paranoia over people’s opinions ignites a new feud. Also, Drita tries to be a good example for her children.

Tune in to VH1 at 8/7c for all the drama! Learn where to find episodes online of Mob Wives @ Clicker.

Tonight, I am also watching The Apprentice, The Amazing Race, Mad Men, and GCB!

I LOVED watching last week’s premiere of this round of Chopped All Stars. I rooted for Michael Symon from the beginning and I was thrilled to see that I was justified in that. This week, I’m also excited about the contestants, mainly because it’s Aarti Sequeira, the winner of Next Food Network Star season 6, and Jeffrey Saad, runner-up in season 5. I loved both of them, and I enjoy both their shows (Aarti has Aarti’s Party on Food Network, and Jeffrey has United Tastes of America on the Cooking Channel). They are going up against Keegan Gerhard, who has appeared on Food Network Challenge & Last Cake Standing, and Marcela Valladolid, host of Mexican Made Easy on Food Network. I like them, but I’m rooting for first Aarti, and then Jeffrey.

On tonight’s episode, “All Stars: Prime Time vs. Day Time,” the chef competitors must utilize chicken feet in the Appetizer Round; a difficult protein makes an appearance in the Entree Round; the remaining contestants are forced to reckon with a surprising ingredient in the Dessert Round.

Root for your favorite tonight on Food Network at 9/8c! Learn where to find episodes online of Chopped @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Breakout Kings, Cupcake Wars, Iron Chef America, Unchained Reaction, & the series premiere of NYC 22.
