If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/20/12

Thank God it’s Friday (& 4/20 at that. 😉 )… That’s all I have to say. We’re gearing up for the end of this season. You can tell because a lot of shows are taking a week or two off before May sweeps and the last run of new episodes for the 2011-2012 season. I’m going to be looking into switching cable companies (we’ve been with AT&T U-Verse for years now, but we’re getting tired of how much we’re paying, and my husband hasn’t been happy with the speed of the internet for a while…), but I have to figure out the best time to do it. The break between end of this season & start of most of the summer shows is perfect. Anyway, on to what we think you should be watching tonight, regardless of who your TV & internet comes from! 😉

The last new episode of Nikita was 3 weeks ago, and it was a whopper. Through a crazy, awesome plan involving Nikita, Michael, Birkoff, Alex took control of her father’s company, later passing control to one of the men she trusted. That meant Ari (and subsequently, Amanda) was out on his ass, and now he & Amanda (who, by the way, had a couple of f***-awesome scenes with Nikita, where they each could have killed the other but didn’t…) are on the run with a black box. With Amanda ousted from Division, Percy is back in charge there. It’s a crazy time, man. Crazy. This week promises to be even crazier, judging by the episode description & preview!

On tonight’s episode, “Wrath,” when Nikita worked for Division, she targeted a man named Nicholas Brandt (guest star Rick Ravanello) and infiltrated his inner circle. She captured him, and he’s been behind bars ever since. However, Percy springs Brant, and his first mission is to capture Nikita for payback. After he has her in his clutches, he tortures her, forcing Nikita to face a side of herself she thought she had long buried. Meanwhile, Percy continues to play mind games with Michael, Alex, and Sean, pushing one of them to the brink of death.

Do not miss it tonight on The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Nikita @ Clicker.

Grimm is one of those shows that makes me happy regardless of what my week was like, and let me tell you, my week has been an interesting one. Not as dramatic as Nick’s life, though, with him having to hunt monsters and all that… Stressful! He’s worried about Hank’s crazy girlfriend, who eventually fails at her mission to get the secret key from Nick, therefore shaming her family. What an intense episode! (Bree Turner, who plays Rosalee, has been made a series regular for next season! Awesome!)

On tonight’s episode, “Cat and Mouse,” while investigating a string of murders, Nick and Hank learn that their suspect’s crime wave began overseas. When Nick discovers the suspect is being harbored by none other than Monroe and Rosalee, he realizes he’s hunting the hunted, a freedom fighter trying desperately to escape the clutches of a creature bounty hunter.

To see if the cat catches the mouse, tune in to NBC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Grimm @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Supernatural and Fairly Legal.

Kyle’s Choice

In last week’s Fringe, Walter took a trip to the alternate universe to help consult on a Fringe event that affected both worlds. Meanwhile, Alt-Astrid and Fauxlivia’s search for David Robert Jones’s mole finally settled on Alt-Broyles. He had been helping DRJ in exchange for treatment for his son. Alt-Broyles turned himself in to our Broyles and handed over a device DRJ was going to use to collapse both worlds into one.

If DRJ collapsed both worlds, he would kill himself along with everyone else! So what is his ultimate plan?! I guess we’ll have to put that question on hold, because tonight, we take another trip back to the future.

From the Star Wars-style opening scroll of tonight’s episode, “Letters of Transit,” we discover that we are in 2036, and that the Fringe team and the Observers are participants in an epic battle. Once again, everything we thought we knew gets shaken up. This is a game changing episode, with a great guest star, Henry Ian Cusick (Lost). The show is getting really exciting as we quickly approach the (hopefully just season) finale.

See it tonight on FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Fringe @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Grimm, The Finder, Supernatural, Fairly Legal, In Plain Sight, Magic City, The Ricky Gervais Show, and Primetime: What Would You Do?.

Mary found herself between a rock and a hard place when last we left her on In Plain Sight. At the end of the episode, her father showed up out of the blue, and she had the choice to either help him or arrest him. She chose the latter. Meanwhile, during the episode, she and Marshall were tasked with preventing a drag queen from reverting back to his old ways and being killed. Marshall had to go undercover and ended up performing a fabulous song and dance number, all while sporting a dress and heels. Plus, Mary’s ex-boyfriend showed up in town with his wife and is now working for the local baseball team. Mary herself put it best: she’s a sleep-deprived single mother with a glock. Is it really working for her juggling so much on her plate?

On tonight’s episode, “The Medal of Mary,” Mary’s father returns. putting both Brandi and Jinx in danger. Also, Mary has to decide who she is going to trust.

See where Mary’s heavy heart leads her at 10/9c on USA. Learn where to find episodes online of In Plain Sight @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching Fairly Legal & Grimm!

Looks like AT&T already cut you off 🙂

It’s insane how high cable prices are–especially for the few channels I actually watch out of what I am forced to subscribe to in order to get the channels I want. I’ve been really tempted many times to just drop cable and just use the internet–practically everything is available online now. One sticking point for some folks is that you still need a cable subscription to get HBO–cannot subscribe to HBOGo on its own.
