If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/9/12

Have you ever been so tired that you seem to be moving through water? Like you keep making all these little mistakes. Nothing major or anything. Just…not firing on all cylinders? Yeah. That’s me on Wednesday night. Why, I dunno. I got 7 or so hours of sleep Tuesday night. Granted, it was broken up into several parts, but still. I dunno. I’m just kind of floating as I write this, so I hope it’s coherent! Now, if you can stay awake long enough to watch TV, see what we think you should be watching.

Last week’s episode with Sam and Jesse helping out Sam’s girlfriend was great. They got to the “kid’s” house, only to find that things were a lot more complicated than they’d thought, and they had to take down drug dealers hell bent on killing them. I love how well Sam and Jesse work together. 🙂 Michael and Fiona continued to reconnect as they figured out that Rebecca was their prime suspect for Nate’s murder. While trying to capture her, she escaped, and Michael shot her. She surrendered to him, but swore she had nothing to do with Nate’s or Anson’s deaths. It’ll be interesting to see where they go from here. Of course, Nate’s funeral scene was heartbreaking. I’m glad Maddie doesn’t seem to be holding it over Michael’s head—at least for now…

On tonight’s episode, “Unchained,” Michael allows himself to be arrested by the FBI in order to bring down a vicious Bostonian mobster. Meanwhile, Jesse and Pearce are forced to blackmail a weapons manufacturer to get information on an important gun sale… but things don’t go as smoothly as planned. Lauren Stamile, Brian White, Billy Smith, and RD Callstar guest star.

Don’t miss it tonight on USA Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Burn Notice @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/DVRing the 2012 Olympics, Rookie Blue, & Sullivan & Son.

Rookie Blue has been extra intense lately, making me chew my already short nails even farther. It’s amazing to me how one show can evolve in so many different ways so many times. Gail is one of those characters that has been on a huge rollercoaster ride. First, she was the queen bitch, and then we saw a sensitive side of her when she was with Chris, but after they broke up, she was back to uber-bitch. However, this story line is by far one of the most intense because when we last left her, she’d been kidnapped by a serial killer that she had baited while undercover as a call girl. The last episode faded to black as Gail was being assaulted and abducted.

On tonight’s episode, “Out of Time,” when Dov and Chris discover a missing girl’s body in a ravine, Detective Luke Callaghan returns to oversee the investigation; when the officers learn that Gail has been abducted, they rally to track down her captor.

To see if they can track Gail down before it’s too late, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Rookie Blue @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching the 2012 Olympics.

Tonight, my two favorite wacky Adult Swim shows, Childrens Hospital and NTSF:SD:SUV::, return for new seasons! I am always amazed at how much the writers are able to squeeze into each 15-minute episode. They get in more laughs in half the time of your typical sitcom!

First up, at midnight, it’s Childrens Hospital, a medical drama parody starring Rob Corddry, Erinn Hayes, Rob Huebel, Ken Marino, Lake Bell, and Megan Mullally. This show has all the soapy drama you’d expect in a medical series, but it’s all completely over-the-top. From outrageous diagnoses and operations to evil twins and love polygons, it’s got it all! In tonight’s fourth season premiere, “Boy With the Pancakes Tattoo,” an airborne virus spreads amnesia.

Aftewards, it’s NTSF:SD:SUV::, a parody of the action movie/TV series genre starring Paul Scheer, Rebecca Romijn, Rob Riggle, Kate Mulgrew, and Martin Star. What’s not to like about a show that starts off with an Horatio Caine-style pun (YEEAAAAHH!), mixes in the action of MacGyver (or maybe MacGruber), and has Dr. Evil-style villains?! In tonight’s second season premiere, “16 Hop Street,” Trent and Piper go undercover as students. The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun guest stars!

Don’t miss them tonight on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) at 11:59/10:59c & 12:15AM/11:15PMc. Learn where to find episodes online of Childrens Hospital & NTSF:SD:SUV:: @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Rookie Blue, Wilfred, Suits, and Awkward.
