I have to say once more that I am so glad it’s the new season of TV. There’s been SO many good things on, and tonight is no different. I have a lot going on in my real life, so having some great new TV on tonight to distract me is a good thing. So check out what we think you should be watching tonight. 🙂
My pick tonight is the series premiere of Arrow on The CW. Here’s a quick blurb: After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory.”
One of my favorite characters on Smallville was Oliver, so I was kind of excited when I heard they were doing a show about the Green Arrow. Of course, at the time, I was hoping they would cast the same actor who guest starred on the other show, but when details started coming out about Arrow, I was okay with it all. The lead, Stephen Amell, is…quite hot. lol And the trailer for the show, where it had him doing the climbing bar thing (that was always one of the hardest parts of American Ninja Warrior when my family & I watched it!) and shooting the arrows was…also quite hot. LOL But it was also really cool and made me want to watch even more. The only thing I have to wonder about is his ex-girlfriend’s name: Laurel Lance. Sounds a lot like Lana Lang. LOL So silly. *shrug* Starring alongside Stephen are Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, and Paul Blackthorne.
On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” five years after a shipwreck left him stranded on a remote island, Oliver Queen is discovered and returned home to those closest to him; Oliver tries to right the wrongs of society and his family by creating a secret vigilante persona known as Arrow.

Chicago Fire is one of my favorite new dramas of the season because the cast is not only insanely attractive, but so very talented. I have seen the pilot, and I was riveted from the very beginning. I am already invested in each and every member of the this cast. Watching the drama of fire department and the pain of losing one of their own is an intense ride. Starring in the show are Jesse Spencer (House) & Taylor Kenney (The Vampire Diaries), along with Eamonn Walker, Charlie Bennett, David Eigenberg, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Teri Reeves, & Merle Dandridge.
On tonight’s premiere, “Pilot,” following the tragedy of losing a team member, Lt. Matthew Casey and Lt. Kelly Severide point fingers at one another.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Criminal Minds, CSI, The X Factor, Arrow, Law & Order: SVU, Guys with Kids, and Nashville.
Tonight, ABC kicks off the new series Nashville, which I thought was one of the best of the new fall drama pilots. Country singer Rayna James (Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights, American Horror Story) was once a superstar, but now she’s having trouble filling the seats for her tour. When her record label asks her to open for hot new rising star Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere, Heroes), this doesn’t sit well with Rayna. The series also stars Eric Close (Without a Trace), Jonathan Jackson (General Hospital), Charles Esten (Enlightened), Clare Bowen, and Powers Booth (Hatfields & McCoys).
I was surprised how much I really enjoyed this pilot—it was an interesting drama, with great performances by the lead actresses. I also enjoyed the musical performances, and I’m not even a fan of county music—who knew these actresses could sing?! It’s nice to see a different setting from everything else that’s on TV. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
In tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Rayna’s record label asks her to take a backseat role and open for rising star Juliette Barnes in the series premiere of this drama about a country-music legend fighting to stay in the spotlight while a young singer tries to usurp her.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Animal Practice, Guys with Kids, Chicago Fire, The X Factor, Arrow, Supernatural, and Life After Top Chef.
The season premiere of Modern Family was very funny, but the competition from some of the new comedies is getting big. I’m curious to see if Modern Family will stay this high on my list of favorite comedies. Last week, there wasn’t a new episode, which was sad, but tonight, we’re getting double the fun!
On tonight’s first episode, “Schooled,” Phil and Claire drop Haley off at college but manage to embarrass her doing it, while Manny forces Jay and Gloria to take a baby class, and Mitch and Cam drop Lily off for her first day at kindergarten.
Then on the second episode, “Snip,” Phil is going for a vasectomy, Jay and Gloria disagree about finding out the sex of the baby, and Mitch tries to steer Cameron towards a part-time job because Lily’s in kindergarten.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching Arrow, The Challenge, and The X Factor.
