Tonight is the series premiere of Nissan GT Academy on Spike TV at 11:30/10:30c. What if video gamers had the skills to get into a real car and make it as a pro race car driver? To find out, Nissan and Sony have teamed up to give gamers of PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 5 the chance to go from virtual to reality and win the dream job of millions. Over 400,000 gamers from all walks of life entered the competition through the PlayStation Network but only the top 32 faced off at the National Finals in July held at Comic-Con in San Diego. 16 advanced to the world-famous Silverstone race track in the UK to compete in a series of demanding challenges designed to test fitness, driving skills, reaction speeds and performance under pressure.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Reality Show on Showtime at 11:30/10:30c. It follows Mickey Wagner (Adam Rifkin), a down on his luck reality show producer, as he crafts a sensational comeback. Fed up with how staged and phony reality shows are, Mickey’s hatches a revolutionary idea to pick an average American family and put them under all-encompassing surveillance…without the family’s knowledge. The concept is to let real life unfold before the cameras. However, the family is numbingly boring. And the studio wants more sizzle. So Mickey starts to introduce drama into the unwitting family’s lives. Temptation to cheat, drinking, work problems…. chaos ensues. Everything unravels in a big, big way with shocking consequences. The show also stars Kelly Menighan Hensley & Scott Anderson.

Tonight is the series premiere of Malibu Country on ABC at 8:31/7:31c. When Reba Gallagher (Reba McEntire) discovers that her husband, Bobby, (Jeffrey Nordling, Desperate Housewives) a country music legend, has a cheatin’ heart, her world is turned upside down. Reba dreamt of becoming a country star herself, but put her career on hold to raise a family. Now she’s questioning all of that, big-time. With the ink on her divorce barely dry, Reba packs up her sharp-tongued mother, Lillie May (Lily Tomlin), her two kids and the U-Haul and heads for sunny California to begin a new chapter. Leaving Nashville in the rear view, they start over at their Malibu residence — the last remaining asset they have. Reba gets to know her new open and loving neighbor Kim (Sara Rue, Eastwick, Less Than Perfect) and her son, Sage, but also discovers that relocation to Southern California is going to be quite an adjustment for a traditional southern belle: the West Coast seems like the polar opposite of Music City, and Reba feels like an outsider. Still, with the support of her family she sets about finding her voice, jump-starting her music career with the help of her new music agent, Geoffrey (Jai Rodriguez, Queer Eye), and embracing this chance to begin again.
