Tonight is the series premiere of Playing with Fire on E! at 10/9c. The show focuses on the tastemakers of New York’s culinary scene, who (literally) rub elbows with Manhattan’s movers and shakers and are at the epicenter of the city’s nightlife. The stakes are high for these incredibly driven individuals, who make their own rules and work tirelessly in an effort to achieve long term success. However, honing in on their careers with a laser-like intensity often wreaks havoc on their personal lives. The series features Candice Kumai, a sexy California girl, author, and former Top Chef competitor who aims to keep foodies’ waistlines trim with her calorie-conscious cuisine while feeding her desire for a solid romantic relationship; fiery nightlife impresarios-turned-food-entrepreneurs Derek and Daniel Koch who are simultaneously each other’s best friends and worst enemies; brand ambassador and cookbook author Anna Boiardi whose sweetness belies her unrelenting passion food, business and family; and the executive pastry chef Julie Elkind, whose delicate desserts reveal nothing about the headstrong young woman who created them. Actress and bakery owner Jennifer Esposito, who lives with Celiac disease and advocates for Gluten-free cooking, will also make appearances in the series, as will celebrity Chef/Restaurateur Todd English.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Wicked Single on VH1 11/10c. Work hahd, play hahd: that’s the motto that six adultsters featured the Boston-set reality series live – and party – by. But although they never miss an opportunity to hit the club, these young Bostonians sometimes wonder if the trappings of adulthood may be passing them by as they revel in “Monday Fundays” and “Tuesday Boozedays.” Ultimately, this group of friends is looking for the answer to one question – how can they grow up – without growing old?

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Fashion Queens on Bravo at 11:30/10:30c. This topical, fashion-based talk show features two of Atlanta’s style elite, celebrity hairstylists Derek J and Miss Lawrence, and New York’s fashion maven and media socialite Bevy Smith. The trendy opinionated trio will cover anything and everything related to the world of fashion, from haute couture to celebrity style to unusual outfits from around the globe, giving their unique perspective on the trends, hits and misses.

  1. Theresa says:

    What’s up with: *Special* – Twisted (#101) – The CW @ 9/8c (1-Hour “Pilot Presentation” Special) ???

I don’t see this on my lineup and cannot find anything on the internet about it. Odd.

  2. Jenny says:

Here’s the description I got from The Futon Critic:

“Twisted,” premiering on Tuesday, June 11th, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, is a one-hour mystery full of twists and turns that is centered on a charismatic 16-year-old with a troubled past (Avan Jogia) who has recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood (Maddie Hasson and Kylie Bunbury). He becomes the prime suspect when a fellow student is found dead in her home. The series also stars Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.

The episode this Tuesday is the pilot, the series premiere, which will air again on June 11th as the “real” series premiere. 🙂

    Hope that helps!

  3. Theresa says:

    Oh nice! Sounds good.
