Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of Mr. Selfridge on PBS at 9/8c. The show recounts the real life story of the flamboyant and visionary American founder of Selfridge’s, London’s lavish department store. Set in 1909 London, when women were reveling in a new sense of freedom and modernity, Mr. Selfridge follows Harry Gordon Selfridge (“Mile a Minute Harry”), a man with a mission to make shopping as thrilling as sex. Pioneering and reckless, with an almost manic energy, Harry created a theater of retail where any topic or trend that was new, exciting, entertaining – or just eccentric – was showcased. It stars Jeremy Piven (Entourage).

Tonight is the series premiere of Rogue on DirecTV at 9/8c. The show revolves around Grace (Thandie Newton), a morally and emotionally conflicted undercover detective who is tormented by the possibility that her own actions contributed to her son’s death. Grace’s search for the truth is further complicated by her forbidden relationship with Jimmy (Marton Csokas), the crime boss who may have played a hand in the crime. A smart, complex, character-led thriller, the show explores loss, grief, identity, family bonds, second chances and redemption. Both Grace and Jimmy not only struggle with who they are, they also struggle with who they want to be. Both cross the line – morally, emotionally, sexually – with devastating consequences for their own lives and those around them.

It’s also the 2-hour series premiere of The Spies of Warsaw on BBC America at 9/8c. The show is based on The New York Times Bestselling author Alan Furst’s acclaimed novel. David Tennant (Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Fright Night) and Janet Montgomery (Made in Jersey, Black Swan, Entourage) star in the thrilling spy story set in Poland, Paris, and London in the years leading up to the Second World War.

The third series premiere tonight is How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) on ABC at 9:31/8:31c. Polly (Sarah Chalke) is a single mom who has recently divorced. The transition hasn’t been easy for her, especially in this economy. So, like a lot of young people living in this new reality, she and her daughter, Natalie (Rachel Eggleston), have moved back home with her eccentric parents, Elaine (Elizabeth Perkins) and Max (Brad Garrett). But Polly and her parents look at life through different generational lenses. Polly (in contrast to how she was raised) aspires to be organized and together, while Max and Elaine live a more free-flowing, improvisational life-style. Polly wants to take it slow with new relationships, while her parents encourage her to be more sexually adventurous. Polly’s co-worker and close friend, Jenn (Stephanie Hunt), also encourages her to jump right back into the dating world. Polly and her parents’ views on parenting itself also conflict: Polly wants to be an involved modern parent, but Max and Elaine are laid back, hands-off parents from the 1970s. Polly believes children need to be sheltered and have structure and guidance, while Max and Elaine feel that children need the freedom to fall and pick themselves back up. After all, Polly turned out okay, so what’s the big deal? They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in Polly’s case, this village is on fire, and although her ex-husband Julian’s (Jon Dore) intentions are good, he doesn’t exactly help extinguish the flames. But through figuring out how to live with her dysfunctional family, Polly realizes she might even be able to learn a few helpful things about herself.

Also tonight, it’s the series premiere of Forever Young on TV Land at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. The six-episode series seeks to discover what happens when two different generations – five “juniors” under the age of 30 and five “seniors” over age 70 – brave the challenge of living together in the same house.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Pot Cops on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. In the vast forests of Northern California, most would never imagine encountering gunfire, booby traps and cartel activity. But here in Humboldt County, an area with some of the most conducive growing conditions in the United States, the country side is overrun with armed Mexican drug cartels that are willing to use violence to protect their valuable marijuana crops. In order to avoid crossing the border with illegal substances, many cartels have set up marijuana grows where they can produce thousands of plants potentially worth thousands of dollars each – and it’s not just cartels setting up shop. Many “average joe” growers operate from this area, and will be brought down alongside the cartels if their activities wind up on the Drug Enforcement Unit’s radar.

Tonight is the series premiere of Casino Confidential on TLC at 8/7c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 8:30/7:30c. Unruly high rollers, all-night party goers, and bachelor parties gone rogue; that’s Casino Confidential. For the staff at Las Vegas’ legendary Binion’s Casino, it’s all in a day’s work to make sure everything runs smoothly. In this high octane and no holds barred docu-soap all is exposed. With the extraordinary events and crazy characters that descend on the hottest party venue in Sin City.

Tonight is also the series premiere of America’s Worst Tattoos on TLC at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. Tattoos, they last a lifetime, which is great if you’re trying to commemorate a lost loved one, or a special moment. Not so great if you’re an impulsive type with a desire to decorate your delicate parts with a shamrock. But that’s where the folks of “America’s Worst Tattoos” come in. They’re in the business of turning that lumpy, faded butterfly into a bonafide work of art. Starting Thursday, April 4 at 9 pm, expert tattoo artists Tim Pangburn, Jeremy Swan and NY INK’s Megan Massacre take on the big mistakes and turn ’em into masterpieces.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Hannibal on NBC at 10:01/9:01c. One of the most fascinating literary characters comes to life on television for the first time: psychiatrist-turned-serial-killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecter. In this new drama from Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Heroes), based on the characters from Thomas Harris’s classic novels, we see where this incredible story began. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy, The Big C) is a gifted criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI. Graham’s unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. He seems to know what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing is too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal (known as a serial killer only to the audience) form a brilliant partnership and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch. If Will only knew… Caroline Dhavernas, Hettienne Park, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Laurence Fishburne, & Scott Thompson also star.
