It’s been an eventful weekend around here, with my little guy Pherson going in for some minor surgery. He’s doing well and is almost back to himself—then hopefully, we’ll all sleep a bit more! While I count down the hours to bedtime, let’s see what’s on to keep us amused.
American Ninja Warrior has become a family favorite around here. They are equally amazed when they complete the course as they are when they fall. My daughter’s favorite part is when someone seems too confident, and then they fall on something that should have been easy. (Honestly, I like that part too!) This course they’re on now for the finals is pretty tough, and I’m amazed at the strength some of these competitors have. I’m a little disappointed that there have been no females finishing the finals course, but who knows what is to come next year.
On tonight’s episode, “Vegas Finals,” the top finishers from the regional finals face a course modeled after Mount Midoriyama in Japan.
To see how the remaining athletes measure up, tune in to NBC at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching The Million Second Quiz, Mistresses, and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Ryan Seacrest is branching out to a new network tonight, as the host of NBC’s The Million Second Quiz. According to NBC, the show is a new live competition, where contestants test the limits of their knowledge, nerve, and endurance as they battle each other in intense head-to-head bouts of trivia for 12 consecutive days and nights. When the million second draw to a close, the champions will compete in a grand finale and the ultimate winner will claim the largest prize in game show history. This could either be a lot of fun…or a hot mess. *laugh* I’m looking forward to seeing which it is!
On tonight’s episode, “Day 1,” Ryan Seacrest hosts as contestants push the limits of their knowledge, nerves, and endurance battling one another throughout intense rounds of trivia over the course of 12 consecutive days and nights while simultaneously interacting with viewers.
Watch the fun begin tonight on NBC at 8/7c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior & Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
Last week’s Under the Dome contained some interesting points going forward, even though some parts were equally frustrating. The dome “warning” the kids to stay together was cool, and the vision of them holding knives and Big Jim being stabbed was very interesting. The confrontation between Big Jim and Barbie was a long time coming, but the way to get there was annoying. Only a few doubts, and almost everyone goes off the ladder, and Barbie wasn’t too smart to run away from a crime scene. But with two episodes remaining, it will be interesting which monarch will be crowned and how the series will launch into a second season.
On tonight’s episode, “Exigent Circumstances,” the manhunt for Barbie continues as Big Jim gets the citizens of Chester’s Mill riled up. And Joe and Norrie attempt to find a new hiding place for the mini dome.
Find out how Chester’s Mill deals with the twelfth day of living under the dome on CBS at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching Mistresses.
