If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/15/13

So happy that this week is over! What a long week it’s been, but the highlight was definitely my parent/teacher meeting with my daughter’s teacher last night. It’s always nice to hear what a well-behaved child she is for everyone else. 🙂 While I have a proud moment about raising a child that is good in public (and occasionally at home 😉 ), let’s see what you should be watching tonight.

grimm1115smallGrimm had a strong start to the season, and now we’re really starting to get into the groove of all the story lines. Nick is finally getting back to himself, only stronger and clearer. He’s moving home with Juliette, and things are moving along for Monroe and Rosalee as the two confess their love and plan to move in together. Unfortunately, before all the couples can begin their happily ever after, there’s a string of Blutbaden (Wolf shifter like Monroe) murders, which are linked back to a new restaurant that turns out to be run by Bauerschwein (pig shifters). The Bauerschwein are out to seek revenge for all the deaths of their kind at the claws of the Blutbaden. Monroe and Nick hatch a plan where they pretend Monroe has gone crazy with anger and Nick ends up shooting him in front of the head chef. Nick then convinces the Bauerschwein to admit that he poisoned the Blutbadens, and then he arrests him. Luckily, Nick didn’t actually shoot Monroe and everyone was okay at the end of the episode—well, everyone except for the Blutbadens, who exploded all over the place.

On tonight’s episode, “One Night Stand,” a lakeside murder investigation leads Nick and Hank to a water-dwelling, mermaid-like Wesen. Michael Welch guest stars.

To see who the mermaid seduces, tune in to NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, Bones, Haven, Dracula, Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, and Secret Princes

bones1115smallTonight is the big move to Friday that fans of Bones have been promised/threatened with/whatever for years. Honestly, I’m okay with that. I watch TV on Fridays, too, and this means I get one more show to look forward to late in the week, which is great, since Mondays and Tuesdays are jam-packed normally. Earlier this week, we watched the team solve the murder of a male model (killed by a woman who was in charge of a sperm donor clinic, where he’d donated enough sperm and fathered a bunch of kiddos). But the highlight of the episode was definitely Hodgins playing host/expectant mother to a fly larva. It was gross and disgusting and yet, somehow adorable, all at the same time.

I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s definitely got some laughs. Brennan on a jury? It’s a frightening thing. But there’s also some serious stuff, and I’m already anxious to find out where they’re going to go with one particular story line, so… 🙂

On tonight’s episode, “The Fury in the Jury,” Brennan is a juror on the case of professional soccer player Peter Kidman (guest star Brandon Quinn), who is accused of murdering his wife. When she uses pure objectivity to help prove the killer not guilty, his best friend and a key witness in the case turns up dead. The Jeffersonian team must work together to prove that the soccer star was in fact guilty of killing both his wife and his friend.

Don’t miss the show’s move to Friday nights on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Last Man Standing, The Neighbors, Grimm, Hawaii Five-0, Raising Hope, & Blue Bloods.

raisinghope1115asmallTonight, the Chance family returns to our TV sets for the start of the fourth season of Raising Hope. In last season’s double-episode finale, we got an amazing musical episode, where Burt learned that he was actually Jewish. Also, Burt discovered that Maw Maw’s mother was somehow still alive…only to have her die shortly afterwards while on the toilet. And it was up to Burt to break the bad news to Maw Maw.

raisinghope1115bsmallRaising Hope is always a lot of fun. The Chance family seems to have this undying optimism, or maybe it’s just ignorance, that whatever they put their minds to can and will happen. There is always something crazy going on, or some odd thing from their past surfaces. But somehow, the family always manages to come together in the end, happier and more content than they were before.

On tonight’s first episode, “Déjà Vu Man,” the Chances want to know why a mysterious Natesville resident keeps showing up in their lives, but it leads to a revelation from Maw Maw about Virginia’s past. Jeffrey Tambor guest stars. Then, in “Burt Bucks,” Sabrina saves Jimmy’s life, but it makes him wonder about his masculinity. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia learn a painful economics lesson after introducing a new bartering system to Natesville that could be mistaken for a pyramid scheme.

Check out the 1-hour season premiere tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Neighbors, Grimm, Bones, and Haven.

antmsmallTonight is the season finale of America’s Next Top Model 2.0, where guys could compete for the first time. I loved the new dynamics of this season, although at some points, there could’ve been a little less vicious drama in the house. And last week, we got the return of all the models that travelled to Bali, which was just so sad to see for Jourdan!

On tonight’s episode, “The Guy or Girl Who Becomes America’s Next Top Model,” one model will get eliminated before the final runway. And afterwards, a final shoot with Tyra will decide the winner.

See if Cory, Marvin, or Jourdan takes it home tonight on The CW at 9/8c.
