Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving (or a good weekend for those of you not in the US)? I had a great one, although the break wasn’t nearly long enough. We had way too much food, some great fun playing card and board games with my dad, and just spending a lot of time together. But I’m ready for great new TV, and that starts tonight. Megan isn’t feeling well, so here’s what Kyle & I are recommending.
I’m happy because The Mentalist is back tonight. Last season ended on a high, especially for “Jisbon” fans. Lisbon was about to leave to meet up with Pike, but Jane ran in to the plane to stop her. He confessed that he loved her right before security hauled him off the plane. She went to find him in the police station and asked if he’d told her the truth, and he said yes…and then she leaned over and they kissed! It would’ve been a near-perfect series finale, but then it was renewed, so now we get to see if Jane will eventually take off his wedding ring, now that he killed Red John and he’s moved on with Lisbon. I’ve seen the premiere (actually, I’ve seen the first 3 episodes) and I’m so glad it’s back!
On tonight’s episode, “Nothing but Blue Skies,” Jane and Lisbon decide to keep their new relationship a secret from their colleagues as they investigate the murder of an undercover agent. Also, young, ambitious agent Michelle Vega (Josie Loren) joins the team. Pedro Pascal guest stars.
Meet the new agent and see if Jane & Lisbon can keep their relationship a secret tonight on CBS at 9:30/8:30c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Holiday Baking Championship, Cutthroat Kitchen, & CSI.

Tonight is the midseason finale of The Walking Dead, which means we can probably expect some huge cliffhanger before the series disappears for a couple of months. Last week, the group at the church grabbed every piece of wood they could find to fortify the building. Father Gabriel couldn’t watch everything of his being destroyed, so he sneaked out through the floorboards, stepped on a nail, and started leaving a bloody trail as he headed off into the woods. Rick, Sasha, Daryl, Tyreese, and Noah headed toward the hospital and tried to capture some of the guards as hostages to trade for Beth and Carol. As the rest of the group headed after the guards who escaped, Sasha stayed back to keep an eye on their one captive, Bob. But he preyed on Sasha’s kindness and knocked her out while she was preoccupied trying to do him a favor. Meanwhile, the GREATM group went fishing; and Beth stole drugs to help Carol.
It looks like things are coming to a head—will Rick and his gang make their attack on the hospital, and will their rescue mission be successful? Will Father Gabriel’s blood trail lead someone or something to the church, and will it come under attack as well? And what’s next for the GREATM group—will they head back to find the others now that they know the truth about Eugene? Will we see Morgan Jones again and find out what he’s up to in the woods? And most importantly, will anyone die tonight?!
On tonight’s episode, “Coda,” Rick seeks a peaceful agreement when rules and morals are tossed aside by new enemies.
To see how the first half of the season ends, tune in to AMC at 9/8c.
I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Mentalist, CSI, Once Upon a Time, Resurrection, Mulaney, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bob’s Burgers, The Newsroom, The Comeback, and Getting On.
