If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/19/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

janethevirgin119smallTonight, the delightful—and Golden Globe-winning—CW comedy Jane the Virgin returns from its hiatus. When we last left off, we discovered that Petra was not who she said she was and that she had assumed identity of a dead woman. Also, Michael discovered a secret passage in the hotel room, which led to an underground tunnel; Rogelio’s rival Esteban took home the Best Actor prize at the Paloma Awards; and Xo’s idol gave her some encouragement to pursue her dreams of becoming a pop star (however, she doesn’t know it was Rogelio who set this conversation up). But the biggest shocker was when supposedly wheelchair-bound Magda stood up and pushed Alba down the stairway.

Is Alba okay? Will the others discover the truth about Magda, and does Petra even know the truth about her mother’s condition? What is Madga’s ultimate plan—is she the one behind the Sin Rostro case? Will Michael ever solve that case, and what does this secret tunnel have to do with it? Will Xo and Rogelio get back together? This show moves a mile a minute, and each episode brings new, entertaining twists and turns!

On tonight’s episode, “Chapter Ten,” a hurricane hits town, forcing Jane to stay at the Marbella. Meanwhile, Rogelio comforts Xo when he learns about Alba’s condition; Rafael gets his old job back and must make a tough call regarding staff layoffs; and Michael tries to assist Alba quietly.

Find out what decision Raael makes and what the outcome in when Rogelio confronts Xo tonight on The CW at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Castle, Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, Chasing Life, Eye Candy, and The Venture Bros.

ncisla119smallNCIS: LA has had a very eventful last few episodes, whether it was on the relationship front or concerning the team as a whole. I’ve really been enjoying seeing Kensi and Deeks come together as a couple, as well as Nell and Eric start to openly show more emotions towards each other. All of the fantastic romantic things aside, I really enjoyed last episode, and watching Callen undercover during the hostage situation was great because it really showed us more of his useful skills. After finding out that the terrorists were really IRA looking to get a super bug from the lab in the building, Callen went to stop it—which actually led to our favorite selfless crime fighter getting himself dosed with the deadly bug. Thankfully after the terrorist group had been contained, Callen was transported to the CDC headquarters, where they had secretly already come up with a cure, so Callen’s life was spared. There were so many moments where we saw the strong dedication and love the team has for each other, and I think that’s why this team and this show continue to make me tune in week after week—the personal bonds. A crime drama is always intriguing, but when they add the human qualities like this one, it’s a perfect recipe.

On tonight’s episode, “In the Line of Duty,” U.S. Ambassador Nancy Kelly narrowly escapes a terrorist attack at the U.S. consulate in Tunisia, Callen and Sam are sent on a secret, dangerous mission to obtain key evidence from the crime scene. Upon their return, the team seeks Kelly’s help to provide missing information. Julie Chen guest stars.

To see how this delicate situation turns out, tune in to CBS at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching 2 Broke Girls, Gotham, Mike & Molly, Jane the Virgin, Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow, and Eye Candy.

eyecandysmallI wasn’t sure about Eye Candy before the premiere because it’s on MTV, and I don’t watch anything on there at all. I was afraid it would be too “young” for me, with characters and problems that I had no interest in. But I really enjoyed it. Victoria Justice was great, and the show packed a lot of action into that forty or so minutes. I wasn’t as sold on her best friend, but I like her best friend’s other best friend, and I loved her ex’s partner—he’s sexy… It was sad to see Ben (the ex) killed at the end of the episode, but the scenes from the upcoming season made me excited to tune in to see more. It’s a great show, not too young for adults but good for anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

On tonight’s episode, “Brb,” determined to identify the dangerous killer in a tragic murder, Lindy goes on dates with two men she considers as suspects, which quickly leads to the unintended repercussions of putting her own friends in real harm’s way.

See if Lindy can keep her friends safe while searching for the killer tonight on MTV at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Scorpion, Best. Ever., NCIS: LA, & Castle.
