Tonight is the series premiere of Clipped on TBS at 10/9c. Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black), Mike Castle (Family Trap), Ryan Pinkston (Tower Prep), Matt Cook (True Blood), and six-time Emmy nominee George Wendt (Cheers) star in the ensemble comedy about a group of misfits from high school who work together at a Charlestown, Mass. barbershop called Buzzy’s. Their dreams may lie across the Charles River in Boston, but for now, their work, their lives and their loves — not to mention their sense of humor — remain in Charlestown.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Proof on TNT at 10/9c. For millennia, the world’s greatest scholars and philosophers have tried to answer one important question: Is death truly the end, or is there something else beyond? Now a brilliant surgeon is ready to take up the mantle in this new show, starring Jennifer Beals (The L Word, Flashdance), Matthew Modine (And the Band Played On, Full Metal Jacket), David Sutcliffe (Private Practice, Gilmore Girls), and Joe Morton (Scandal, Terminator 2: Judgment Day). Beals plays Dr. Carolyn Tyler, who has suffered the recent, devastating loss of her teenage son, the breakup of her marriage and a growing estrangement from her daughter. Carolyn is persuaded by Ivan Turing (Modine), a cancer-stricken tech inventor and billionaire to investigate cases of reincarnation, near-death experiences, hauntings and other phenomena, all of it in the search for evidence that death is not the end. It’s both a journey of exploration toward finding an answer to a question many people have asked and a deeply personal and emotional journey for Carolyn, who hopes to find answers in the wake of her son’s death. Proof also stars Callum Blue (Dead Like Me, Royal Pains), Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class, Justified), Annie Thurman (The Hunger Games), and newcomer Caroline Rose Kaplan.

Tonight is the series premiere of Astronaut Wives Club on ABC at 8/7c. A new television drama series based on the book by Lily Koppel, focuses on seven women who were key players behind some of the biggest events in American history. As America’s astronauts were launched on death-defying missions, the lives of their young wives were transformed, seemingly overnight, from military spouses to American royalty. As their celebrity rose, and tragedy began to touch their lives, they rallied together. The show stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher as Betty Grissom; Yvonne Strahovski as Rene Carpenter; Dominique McElligott as Louise Shepard; Odette Annable as Trudy Cooper; Erin Cummings as Marge Slayton; Azure Parsons as Annie Glenn; Zoe Boyle as Jo Schirra; Desmond Harrington as Alan Shepard; Bret Harrison as Gordo Cooper; Wilson Bethel as Scott Carpenter; Kenneth Mitchell as Deke Slayton; Joel Johnstone as Gus Grissom; Sam Reid as John Glenn; and Aaron McCusker as Wally Schirra.

Tonight is also the 2-hour series premiere of Complications on USA Network at 9/8c. From the creator of Burn Notice, Matt Nix, comes the fast-paced and unpredictable thriller, Complications. The series stars Jason O’Mara as Dr. John Ellison, a suburban doctor who, while still dealing with the emotional effects of his daughter’s death, intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life. The series also stars Jessica Szohr, Beth Riesgraf (Leverage), and Lauren Stamile (Burn Notice).

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Alone on History Channel at 10/9c. The ten-episode series is the country’s boldest and longest survival experiment ever captured for television. It places ten hardcore survivalists alone in the Vancouver Island wilderness — no camera crew, no teams, no producers — on a single mission to stay alive. At stake is $500,000 awarded to the person who can last the longest. They will face extreme isolation and psychological distress as they plunge into the unknown, self-documenting their experience.
